In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon," Meirelles said she is already experiencing symptoms of pregnancy like morning sickness.

"Last week I think for 2 to 3 days, I was just really sleepy, like going over 12 hours. I can't stand up like I'm so lazy and sleepy. Aside from that, I'm just getting hungry. I'll eat tapos after an hour, I'm hungry again. After an hour hungry pa din. So hindi ko alam," she said.

"Hindi ko alam kung psychological pregnancy ito o pregnancy talaga. We will find out and we will let you guys know," she added.

Toni Gonzaga: 'I'm just doing my job'

After receiving criticisms from people when she announced on "The Buzz" that actor John Prats and singer Rachelle Ann Go broke up, television host Toni Gonzaga said she was just doing her job as a talk show host.

In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon," Gonzaga said: "At the end of the day, I’m a showbiz talk show host and I’m embracing it. At stake dito sa trabaho namin ay credibility and panininigdigan namin, prinsipyo namin."

Gonzaga added that she, along with the other talk show hosts, are just delivering the news that the public wish to hear.

"We are doing a public service. Kung ano ang aming balita, iyon lang ang inihahantid namin sa kanilang lahat dahil iyon ang gustong malaman ng taumbayan," she said.

She, however, refused to be compared to TV host Kris Aquino, who is dubbed as the "Queen of Talk."

"Siyempre si Ate Kris hindi naman natin ikumpara ang sarili natin. Ate Kris is Ate Kris. She's the queen of talk. Tayo talkative lang. Hanggang talkative lang talaga tayo," she said.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga thanked the people who voted for her at the Yahoo OMG awards to be the Favorite Talk Show Host.

Gonzaga said she is happy at what she’s doing and she is ready to learn more in the field.

"I'm really happy to be part of the talk family. Nagsimula siya sa Entertainment Live. Ngayon nagma-masters na ako sa The Buzz. I’m learning so much and one thing that I really discovered about my self is that I will really stick to what I know. I will stick to the truth and to my principles," she said.

Maja Salvador: 'Who wouldn't have a crush on Coco Martin?'

Actress Maja Salvador has admitted that she gets tickled pink whenever actor Coco Martin takes care of her during their taping for the ABS-CBN TV series “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” (MLKI).

Speaking to Push.com.ph, Salvador said she feels flattered every time Martin goes out of his way just to send her food on the set of MLKI.

“Kahit papaano, kikiligin ka. Siyempre bilang babae, ‘wag ka ng umarte, kikiligin ka rin talaga. Kasi kahit nasa ibang unit siya, magugulat ako magpapadala siya ng food. Kasi ‘di ba sa taping namin, 2 units? Kunwari siya nasa Antipolo, ako near ABS-CBN ang location. Magpapadala bigla iyan ng food. May gano'n siyang ka-sweetan,” she related.

Salvador, however, clarified that she does not want to assume whether Martin is expressing affection toward her or not.

“Ayoko magsalita. Kilala naman natin si Coco, hindi masyadong vocal [sa feelings niya]. Hindi ko sinasabing nanliligaw siya. Ayokong lagyan ng malisya 'yong pagbibigay niya sa akin ng food, kasi baka mamaya hindi na siya magbigay ng food (laughs),” she said.

Salvador also reacted when she was told that she was Martin’s first crush when he was just starting out in show business.

“Ha ha ha. Kung totoo man ‘yon, ‘yon din siguro [ang dahilan] kung bakit madali para sa amin mag-work [at] kaya may kilig ['yong team-up namin]. Kasi sino ba naman ang hindi magkaka-crush kay Coco? Kapag nakikita mo siya mapapansin mo naman na, ‘Puwede 'to si Coco, mabait.’ Siyempre mapapa-isip ka rin,” Salvador explained.

Meanwhile, Salvador said she is grateful to be given the chance to know Martin more as a friend rather than just a co-actor.

“Kapag nagte-taping kami, natutuwa ako kasi mas nakikilala ko ang isang Coco Martin na hindi lang bilang isang mahusay na aktor, kundi pati 'yong kung sino siya sa likod ng camera. Nalaman ko na lola’s boy pala siya. Kunwari, meron lang kaming nakain na cake. Mamaya sasabihin niya gusto daw niya ipatikim sa lola niya. Kapag nakita mo si Coco, meron pala siyang other side na gano'n,” she related.

She also said that she is looking forward to doing more projects with the actor.

Jennylyn Mercado's ex-bf speaks about her new love interest

Television host Andrei Felix is not harboring ill feelings toward fellow Kapamilya talent Luis Manzano, who is now dating his former girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado.

During the launching of his upcoming dating game show, "DreamDate," on Studio 23, Felix said he wishes Mercado and Manzano well.

"I heard they're happy. Of course, they're happy. Kung baga tapos na 'yon. Matagal nang tapos 'yon. I'm friends with Luis. He's been very, very good to me noong nasa MYX pa ako," he told reporters on Wednesday night.

He also shared that Manzano is one of his idols in the industry, and that he and Mercado remain friends.

He did not deny though that he got surprised when he learned that the 2 are now going out on dates.

"Nagulat din ako. Tinatanong nga nila ako, [pero] hindi ko alam. Hindi ko na din alam ang nangyayari kasi nakatutok ako sa work," he said. "Sa ngayon, naka-focus ako sa trabaho."

Aside from hosting "DreamDate," Felix, who is currently part of the ABS-CBN morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG)," will also host an upcoming travel show.

Since his breakup last year with Mercado, the TV host said he has already moved on through the help of his family, relatives and friends, and by keeping himself busy. He added that he is thankful because of his many blessings.

Felix and Mercado became an item when the actress was pregnant with her first baby. The father of Mercado’s child is actor Patrick Garcia.

Amid persistent rumors, Mercado and Felix had kept their relationship under wraps due to work-related issues. Their relationship lasted for 2 years, according to Felix.

Mercado then became romantically involved with actor Dennis Trillo, who, she claimed, had physically manhandled her that led to their separation.

"Para maka-move on ka, kailangan mong tanggalin ang sama ng loob with the help of your friends, relatives, 'yong work to keep yourself busy. Find an outlet--in my case, basketball. Tina-try kong manood paminsan-minsan. Malaking naitulong sa akin ng 'UKG' family ko," Felix said.

When asked if Trillo was the cause of their split up, he said: "Hindi ko alam. I really don’t know. Hindi ko masasagot yan."

Felix might be single right now, but he said he is happy. He revealed he is taking things slow before plunging into a new relationship.

"I've given up on love for now. Gusto ko friendship muna… I'm going out. I'm just enjoying," he said.

'DreamDate'

Meanwhile, Felix said he is excited to be part of "DreamDate," which is touted as the first original Pinoy dating game show.

"DreamDate" is the "first-ever tri-media dating game and lifestyle show in the Philippines." It aims to connect all 3 main media outlets--online, mobile and television--to meet the growing demands of today's generation of digital consumers.

Felix and MYX VJ Bianca Roque are the hosts of the newest TV program on Studio 23.

"This is actually one of my dream jobs," he said. "I've been on radio. I've been a VJ as well. I've done basketball and I'm currently hosting a morning show. But this is something I haven't done yet. Being part of 'DreamDate' is overwhelming. It's a very big project. The concept of the show is that everybody can join in."

Roque, for her part, said: "It's not your usual dating game show. For our contestants, we not only have beauty queens but also tough girls and girls-next-door. At the same time, we have the online component which is the lifestyle angle of the show. In that website, Chuzi, you could get tips and advice on how to dress up, do make-up, where to go on dates, what to do. I'm sure everyone will get something out of this show."

David Abrenilla, the executive producer and creator of the show, said "DreamDate" is "actually an extension of Chuzi."

"Consumers shall use the Internet or their mobile phone to enroll in the game in hopes of finding their match. The consumers are analyzed... and will be invited to a casting call to have a chance to be on 'DreamDate' show," Abrenilla said.

In search of their ultimate dream date, 6 contestants--3 girls and 3 boys--will go through challenges and interviews to test their compatibility. At the end, the contestants will be given the chance to vote for their dream date based on their looks, personality and talents.

"DreamDate" will premiere on July 15 at 11:30 p.m. on Studio 23.

Kathryn Bernardo admits 'friendly date' with Diego Loyzaga

The star of the defunct hit TV series "Mara Clara," Kathryn Bernardo, denied a report that she's dating newbie actor Diego Loyzaga.

In an interview during the OMG Awards night held last Tuesday, Bernardo said that Loyzaga is just a friend.

"Wala po. Hindi naman po totoo. Na-misinterpret lang ng tao noong nakita nila kami. Tapos marami nang kumalat. Kasi kaibigan ko lang po talaga si Diego. Friendly date lang po talaga," Bernardo said.

The actress also reacted to a report that Loyzaga is already wooing her.

"Clear ko lang po: Wala naman pong panliligaw na nagaganap," Bernardo said.

Loyzaga, the son of Teresa Loyzaga by award-winning actor Cesar Montano, was the love interest of Bernardo's character Mara in ABS-CBN's remake of "Mara Clara."

Maja Salvador speaks about 'relationship' with Matteo

Although they are vocal about their special feelings for each other, actress Maja Salvador revealed Wednesday that she and actor Matteo Guidicelli are not yet officially a couple.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Salvador said their respective careers are still their priorities.

“Hindi pa nga kami. Hindi. Kung siya maraming priorities, mas marami rin siguro pa akong priorities. Kaya hindi ako siguro sumasagot kasi siyempre may mga kanya kanya kaming trabaho pa na kailangan alagaan,” she explained.

Salvador said she’d rather not say anything about their blossoming romance because she finds it more appropriate if the guy is the one who speaks about the relationship.

“Pangit naman kung sasabihin natin na nanliligaw sa akin si Matteo. Parang ako ‘yong nag-a-announce. Hindi rin naman [maganda]. Hayaan na natin na siya ‘yong vocal, na siya ‘yong nagsasabi, lagi nagbabanggit ng pangalan ko kasi siya ang lalaki,” she said.

Meanwhile, Salvador was also not able to evade the media when she was asked about the alleged rift between her and actress Erich Gonzales.

“Okay na kaming lahat so mag-move on na tayo. Okay kami ni Erich, nila Melissa pati sila Kim. Magkaibigan naman kami pero hindi kami lumalabas, civil. Kung sasabihin mong close friends ba, siguro papunta kami doon. Dahan dahan lang muna kasi kapag nagsama-sama kami bigla, sasabihin ay nagpaplastikan lang mga yan,” she said.

Salvador, however, admitted that there was a time when she and Gonzales felt awkward toward each other.

“Kunyari si Francis binulungan ako, sabi ni Erich ganito. Si Tita Julie binulungan si Erich na sabi ni Maja ganyan. So kapag magkikita kaming dalawa, hindi namin alam kung mag-uusap ba kami, kung sino ang magbi-break ng ice. Hanggang sa nag-States kami, same dressing room kami, Kim, ako and Erich. Doon na nag-umpisa,” she related.

Yeng dreams of being an actress

Aside from pursuing her singing career, “Pinoy Dream Academy” first grand winner Yeng Constantino revealed she also wants to venture into acting.

In an interview with Push.com.ph, Constantino said she sometimes feels envious when she sees her colleagues acting.

“Open ako to it. Kasi parang gusto ko rin gumawa ng ibang bagay. Don’t get me wrong, mahal ko yung ginagawa ko ngayon. Yung pagkanta, parte yun ng sistema at dugo ko, pero minsan parang may inggit ka pag nakikita mo si Rachelle Ann uma-acting na rin. Si Kuya Erik Santos at Kuya Mark Bautista nag-Maalala Mo Kaya, si Christian Bautista um-acting sa Indonesia,” she said.

Constantino disclosed that she already has a role in mind that she wants to portray.

“Ang pangarap ko gawin na role is kunyari parang yung babae na binubuhay niya yung pamilya niya tapos kailangan niya magtrabaho ng mga trabahong panlalake, kunyari barker ng jeep or parang karagador sa palengke, mga ganung role ang gusto ko magawa,” she said.

“First of all, hindi kasi ako pa-girl, hindi ako yung parang soft. Feeling ko parang makakaya ko yung roles na ganun. Nae-excite ako,” Constantino added.

According to the 22-year-old singer, she is just worried that once she does acting, people might think that she is veering away her focus from singing.

“Minsan actually nahuhuli ko yung sarili ko nangangarap. Dati lagi kong niri-reject yung thought na a-acting ako. Ayoko eh, kasi feeling ko masisira yung craft ko, parang yung pride ko bilang artist kasi iniisip ko songwriter ako, baka sabihin nila hndi ako nagfo-focus sa ginagawa ko. Parang medyo naiisip ko yung mga ganun. Pero ngayon nahuhuli ko yung sarili ko na nag-iisip kung pano kaya kung andun ako sa role na yun,” Constantino said.

The singer said she also wants to start her acting career doing independent films just like actor Coco Martin.

“Doon rin nag-start si Coco Martin ‘di ba? Parang ang dami kong nakilalang artists nagaling sa mga indie films. Kahit nga yung mga mainstream artists, nag-i-indie sila eh. Kasi iba talaga experience pag from indie film, iba yung disiplina. Parang kumbaga sa singing yung teatro,” she said.

Manny Pacquiao thankful Jinkee has forgiven Krista

Sarangani Rep. and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is thankful that his wife, Jinkee, has forgiven actress Krista Ranillo.

Asked about his wife's statement that she has forgiven Ranillo, Pacquiao laughed and said: "Lahat naman ng tao nagpapatawad."

The boxer was alleged secretly dating the sexy actress in 2009 when the 2 were paired in the movie "Wapakman."

The rumor triggered a fight between the Pacquiao couple, which surfaced after the boxer's victory over Miguel Cotto.

Ranillo later married Island Pacific supermarket boss Jefferson Niño Lim. She recently gave birth to a baby boy.

Jinkee Pacquiao told "The Buzz" that she has already moved on from the issue, and that she wished Ranillo well.

"Matagal na rin kasi na panahon na nangyari 'yon. So, parang kinalimutan ko na rin 'yon. Tsaka napatawad ko na lahat kung sino man 'yong nakasakit sa akin. Parang naka-move on na rin ako," she said.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao said he is planning to spend Fathers' Day with his family and even gave a greeting to all dads.

Asked for his reaction after being named the 24th highest-paid athlete by Forbes magazine, Pacquiao replied: "Ganun ba? Masaya tayo diyan kasi pinaghirapan natin 'yan."

Mariel Rodriguez jealous of Bea Alonzo?

Mariel Rodriguez on Monday said she is not jealous of Bea Alonzo despite being the newest leading lady of Rodriguez's husband, action star Robin Padilla.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com on Monday, Rodriguez said that she has nothing against Alonzo and stressed that she supports Alonzo and her husband's first project together. Alonzo and Padilla are starring in ABS-CBN's newest television series "Guns and Roses."

"I'm not just use to it na katulad 'yung kumakanta (para sa promotion). Hindi ako sanay. Kasi ang alam ko sa akin lang siya kumakanta. Walang may kasalanan, walang anything. Hindi lang ako sanay," Rodriguez said.

"Hindi naman isyu ang pagta-trabaho. Alam namin 'yun kaya kami nagta-trabaho lalo na si Robin marami siyang gustong matulungan. This is our medium, na magawa kung ano ang gusto naming magawa," she added.

Rodriguez also added that she is happy that Padilla is working with Alonzo whom she describes as a great actress.

"I've always been a fan of Bea. Sa 'Maging Sino Ka Man' pa lang ni Bea, alam niya yan. For me, as a dramatic actress siya ang pinakamagaling. Siya ang Prinsesa ng Primetime at Reyna ng ABS-CBN. Talagang sobra kong saya na siya ang partner ni Robin," Rodriguez said.

Adjustment period

Rodriguez statement stemmed from Padilla's interview over "The Buzz" that he cried over his wife's sentiments.

Padilla married Rodriguez last year after a whirlwind romance on the set of the now defunct "Pilipinas Win na Win" noontime show.

The two were married in a ceremony inside the Taj Mahal in Agra, India last August. Plans to hold a church wedding in the Philippines have been put on hold.

Mariel said she is happy that her marriage to Padilla is getting stronger. She is also trying her best to adjust to Padilla's busy schedule now that the actor is doing a new teleserye.

"Sobrang bait niya talaga, as in ibang klase. Siguro hindi lang ako sanay. Kasi normally kapag weekend magkasama kami pero siyempre naiintindihan ko naman na nagta-trabaho siya. It's adjustment also for me. Kasi may ibang bagay na sa akin lang niya ginagawa. Pero ganoon siya talaga. Sobrang gentleman niya. Sobrang bait niya sa lahat. So I can't help but feel na aww hindi na kami laging magkasama pero he really makes an effort at nagpapasalamat ako doon," Rodriguez said.

"Ayaw ko yung (maisip niyang) makakalimutan ko siya, masakit sa akin yun. Kasi ang pag-ibig namin lalo siyang umaakyat hindi naman siya (pababa)," he added.

Padilla is busy promoting his new teleserye opposite leading lady Bea Alonzo.

"Guns and Roses" is set to air its pilot episode Monday night (June 6) after "100 Days to Heaven."

Alfred Vargas & Yasmine Espiritu: A storybook love story

It was love at first sight for Quezon City Councilor and Yasmine Espiritu. Cliché? Yes, but it’s true. In fact, even before they met, they were already in a way “connected” to each other.

“I was a fan of Alfred’s,” Yasmine told Funfare in an exclusive joint interview with Startalk (aired last Saturday) at Café Mondial in Tiendesitas, Pasig City, which is owned by the couple. Yasmine is half-Filipina and half-Italian who spent most of her growing-up years in Milan. “At home, I have Alfred’s poster on the wall of my room. I’ve seen all of his movies.”

When they finally met on March 16, 2008, in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, where Alfred was having a show, they instantly matched.

“When we started getting to know each other,” confessed Alfred, “I visited her at home and she gave me a tour of their house. I was surprised when I saw my poster in her room.”

Yasmine was here at that time on one of her regular vacations. She usually stayed at the family’s ancestral home.

“I fell in love with Yasmine at first sight,” recalled Alfred. “She stood out in the audience. I told myself at that moment, ‘This is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.’ I was hooked. It was fiesta time and a lot of people were watching the show. After the show, I made it a point to get her celfone number. I told her, ‘Nagpo-photography ako. Baka naman puwede ko makuha ang celfone number mo at baka puwede kitang gawing model?’ Bulok na style but it worked. Hindi ako tumigil hangga’t hindi ko nakukuha. Honestly, I told myself at that very momenty, ‘Sigurado akong siya na ang babaing pakakasalan ko, hindi nga lang ako sigurado kung pakakasalanan niya ako’. Hahahaha!”

That was what Yasmine also had in mind when she first saw Alfred in a TV show.

“He’s the guy that I will marry,” she told her lola in jest.

Since that fateful first meeting, Alfred didn’t stop until Yasmine became his and his alone.

“He’s my first boyfriend and my first love,” added Yasmine who is so shy that when she talked, she was almost whispering. She’s showbiz potential but no, she said, “I’m not comfortable in the limelight.” She’s a Fine Arts undergraduate.

They got secretly married at the Supreme Court on Aug. 16 last year. A month later, Alfred and his mother and some relatives flew to Milan to formally ask Yasmine’s hand in marriage. They have a six-month-old daughter, Alexandra Milan (born in Milan on Oct. 23 last year), who will be baptized on Saturday, June 11, at the Christ The King Parish Baptistry in Greenmeadows, Quezon City, with Alfred’s manager Lolit Solis and this columnist among the godparents.

During last year’s campaign in which Alfred ran for Q.C. councilor (his first time to do so), Yasmine was never seen.

“Kasi I was pregnant at that time,” said Yasmine in fluent Filipino.

She’s again two months pregnant with their second child.

Yasmine comes from a conservative family, so tightly-knit that, according to Alfred, he had to court first Yasmine’s aunt who was her guardian while she was vacationing in the Philippines.

“Ito na siguro ang pinaka-mahirap na panliligaw ko,” admitted Alfred who has had a few girlfriends before Yasmine. “Her aunt told me, ‘Kung talagang seryoso ka sa pamangkin ko, kailangan tatlong bundok ang tawirin mo para puntahan mo siya.’ Natakot ako! But I never thought of backing down.”

How did Alfred propose to her?

“Simple lang,” smiled Yasmine. “Inilabas niya ‘yung singsing at ibinigay niya sa akin.”

Asked if she said “yes” right away, Yasmine said, “Opo. Hahahaha!”

Their courtship and eventual marriage have never been reported by the media, although Alfred insisted that they never tried to hide anything.

“We ate out and our friends would see us,” said Alfred. “I would introduce Yasmine first as my girlfriend and, after we got married, as my wife. We were open with our relationship, although being private people, Yasmine’s family requested us na gawing private muna ang lahat so that we can enjoy our marriage away from the spotlight.”

Since they were married at the Supreme Court, Alfred said jokingly, “The decision is final. Hindi na pupuwede i-appeal.”

Now occupied with being a father and husband, a public and an actor (he took a respite from showbiz and came back as cast member of the just-concluded ABS-CBN soap Mutya), Alfred said he’s thankful for having a “queen at home” who is supportive.

“I’m very lucky. Yasmine is not only a good wife and mother, she’s also a good housekeeper. No matter how busy I am, I set aside Tuesday as our family day. I see to it that I don’t have any commitment scheduled on that day. On Sundays, the three of us, with Alexandra in a stroller, walk around UP. Sometimes, nagdya-jogging kami ni Yasmine. ”

Does Alfred help in changing the baby’s diapers and heating the feeding bottle?

“Magaling siya magpatulog ng baby,” laughed Yasmine.

When Yasmine gave birth the natural way, Alfred was beside her, armed with a videocam.

“I was the one who cut our baby’s umbilical cord,” Alfred volunteered. “My outlook in life has radically changed since I got married and had a baby. Nagiiba pala talaga ang pananaw mo sa buhay.”

Yasmine sometimes accompanies Alfred to the set. Doesn’t she get jealous when Alfred does a love scene with his leading lady?

“Hindi po. It’s part of his job, eh.”

Yasmine is scheduled to give birth in October.

“Sana Oct. 25,” Alfred wished. “Alexandra was born on Oct. 23 and my birthday is Oct. 24. We can celebrate our birthdays together.” (Yasmine’s birthday is Dec. 20.)

They planned to get married in church last March but Alfred’s father died so they postponed it to maybe next year.

Funfare asked Alfred and Yasmine to seal the interview with a kiss. Alfred closed his eyes as soon as their lips met, savoring the magic of the moment as they held each other’s hands tightly.

It’s true: first love never ever dies.

Jennylyn Mercado’s biological mom rebukes daughter's claims

Jennylyn Mercado’s biological mom sat down with ABS-CBN to set the record straight following her daughter’s no-holds-barred interview with a celebrity magazine that put her in a bad light.

Jinkee, who refused to show her face in front of the camera to protect the privacy of her family, said she felt that it was time for her to speak and tell the truth after reading her interview.

She admitted that she is disappointed and angry as she accused Jennylyn and Lydia Mercado, her adoptive mom, of “making a lot of money out of my reputation.”

"I have been quiet for so many years. Letting them get away with so much indignity towards me. I had enough," she said. "My question is why now… I have been quiet and in fact I have been friends with Jenny. Since January to May, we had a lot of communications. My question is, why now?"

In the interview, Jennylyn claimed that she was brought up by Lydia after her biological parents abandoned her when she was just 6 months old.

Jinkee left Jennylyn in the Philippines when the actress was still young. Jinkee's first job in Dubai was in sales, and she became a business development manager of a big company. The actress’ father, musician Nolie Pineda, left them when Jinkee got pregnant.

But Jinkee vehemently denied abandoning her child. She said that while she might with her daughter, she nonetheless sent her money to support her financially.

Contrary to what Jennylyn said in the interview, Jinkee said she and Pineda were never married.

As for Jennylyn's claim that she was physically abused by her supposed stepfather, Jinkee denied the existence of the stepfather.

"You have to find this guy. I want to meet this man,” she said.

She said she has been married to one man only and that is her British husband of 17 years. She said Jennylyn even met him in 1999.

She added that she was not aware of any physical abuse that the actress had endured when she was a child.

She also blasted Lydia because she “would not let me communicate with Jennylyn despite the fact that I sent them money.”

Jinkee also denied reports that Lydia is her cousin. “We are not related,” she said.

Jennylyn’s adoption is also not official, she said. “There’s no agreement between me and Lydia… Walang adoption paper, it doesn’t exist at all.”

“I don’t really now what she’s looking for and what she’s talking about. Why can’t Jennylyn ask [her father] Nolie. Tanungin niya tatay niya, tanungin niya si Nolie kung paano nangyari ang lahat nang ito becase she can’t just put the blame on me,” she said.

Unbecoming of a mother?

When sought for reaction, the actress’ talent manager, Becky Aguila, sent this statement to ABS-CBN News via text message:

“It was unfortunate to watch a mom trying to defend herself by going against her daughter's revelation in YES magazine. When I deal with my artist, I not only interact with them as a manager but also as a mother, and I felt Jen's pain, sorrow and disappointment upon learning about her biological mom's interview in the Buzz.

“What is most upsetting is that she turned her back on the camera. She didn't want to show her face. What a cowardly act because if you’re really speaking the truth, she should have shown herself in public since she had the guts to tell her side of the story.

“She denied knowledge of her daughter’s battery and her past lover who abused her daughter and left her not just physical pain but trauma to her young mind.

“Whatever reason she had, it was a selfish act. So unbecoming of a mother and until now she showed to everyone what kind of a mother she is. She doesn’t deserve a daughter like Jennylyn. At the end of the day, she's the mother and she should know better.”

Kathryn Bernardo denies relationship with Diego Loyzaga

Young actress Kathryn Bernardo clarified reports saying that she and Diego Loyzaga, her co-actor in the ABS-CBN TV series “Mara Clara”, were spotted together on a date.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Tuesday, Bernardo emphasized that there is nothing romantic going on between her and Loyzaga.

“Wala naman pong something. Close naman kami ni Diego dahil nga sa ‘Mara Clara’ pero wala namang something na nangyayari. Hindi naman talaga siya nanliligaw sa akin,” she said.

Bernardo added that when people probably saw them on a “date,” it was when she and the rest of the “Mara Clara” cast had a group date at the restaurant owned by Loyzaga’s dad.

“Nagkayayaan lang po. Tapos nag-treat sa amin si Diego doon sa restaurant nga ng daddy niya. Group date, as a friend lang naman iyon. Parang bonding session lang namin,” she said.

Last March, Loyzaga signed a contract with ABS-CBN and he later on joined “Mara Clara” which is top billed by Bernardo and Julia Montes.

Loyzaga was then paired to Bernardo, who happened to be his schoolmate way back in high school.

Kris Aquino: No comment on James' love life

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino is keeping mum on reports that husband James Yap is courting acoustic singer Marie Digby.

Aquino said "no comment" when asked to react to the rumor, saying she is no longer interfering with his private life.

“Deadma talaga ako. Kung kay PNoy (brother President Benigno Aquino III) deadma, mas deadma diyan. Kasi I'll let him have his privacy. The very fact na hiwalay kami already gives him some measure of privacy that he didn’t have when we were married,” she told “Showbiz News Ngayon.”

Aquino and Yap separated last year. They were married in 2005.

Yap has also been romantically linked to actress-model Isabel Oli but both parties repeatedly denied the rumor.

Digby, on the other hand, was rumored to have dated hunk actor Sam Milby.

Aquino also opted to remain silent when asked who – between Oli and Digby – has her vote.

“Wala akong boto. Wala akong karapatang bumoto dahil siya (Yap), later on in life, ayoko ding magboboto-boto din siya tungkol sa love life ko,” she said.

Jinkee Pacquiao turns down Ellen DeGeneres show

The wife of 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, Jinkee, has turned down an invitation to appear in a hit US talk show.

In a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Jinkee revealed that she received an invitation to appear on CBS' Ellen DeGeneres show, yet she declined the offer.

"Kasi live, sabi ko, ayoko 'yung live... Kasi first time kong 'yung magge-guest sa Amerika, sa CBS pa, tapos live," she said.

The celebrity endorser said she is not keen on appearing on any US-based live TV show, for now, because she is uncomfortable with the English language.

"Tapos siyempre, English ‘yun, so baka mag-nosebleed ako. Hindi ako fluent sa English, inaamin ko naman ‘yun," she said.

Jinkee, however, revealed she regrets rejecting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Nonetheless, she stressed that she's just being true to herself.

"Nanghihinayang din ako, pero naiintindihan naman nila... Basta naging totoo lang naman ako na baka ano ‘yung masasabi ko, ayokong magkamali,” said Jinkee.

Meantime, Pacquiao’s wife said she’s not closing her doors to appear on the said show at some time in the future.

"Baka next time, baka handa na ako sa ganun," she said.

Prior to Jinkee, international singing sensation Charice and Fil-Canadian Youtube sensation Maria Aragon have appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show.
