Maria Aragon pays courtesy call on Vice President Binay

Maria Aragon, the 11-year-old Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation, recently paid Vice President Jejomar Binay a courtesy call and gave him her sincerest gratitude for his support.

The meeting was held at the Coconut Palace in Manila on Thursday, August 11.

Aragon, who was with her parents and her brother during the courtesy call, said it was Binay who first congratulated her when she was just starting her international career.

In the congratulatory letter Binay sent last February 24, the Vice President said: "You have brought immense pride to the Filipino people with your wonderful talent, and I congratulate you for having gone this far and getting the worldwide recognition you deserve.”

"I believe you have inspired not only the youth to work towards achieving their dreams, but also famous artists to continue to excel in their art and to keep making music. To be touching the lives of people all over the world is an outstanding feat at such a young age. I know you will continue to make us proud," Binay added.

Aragon also had the chance to meet some personnel of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

“I want to say thank you for the support. I wanna say that because of you, Philippines is a beautiful place. Thank you for making the country a beautiful place... Thank you Vice President,” she said.

Aragon also performed before them her own rendition of “Just The Way You Are.”

Meanwhile, in her official Twitter account, Aragon proudly announced that it was her pleasure to meet the Vice President.

“Had the pleasure to VP Jejomar Binay today... and man am I ever proud to be PINOY :) More power to the Philippines,” she tweeted.
