Rica Peralejo Speaks On Her Removal From 'UKG'

Television host-actress Rica Peralejo has admitted that she felt bad after being axed from ABS-CBN morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG)."

"I wouldn't lie naman na I felt bad kasi parang feeling ko, I was able to deliver naman according [doon] sa mga hinihingi sa akin," she said in an interview during the launching of a nail care shop in Pampanga.

Peralejo, however, clarified that she has no ill feelings toward the Kapamilya network.

She also shared that, prior to her removal, she was already thinking of leaving the show.

"I was already feeling too stressed kasi sa work, sa asawa tapos meron akong school. I felt really, really tired. I was thinking at around December kung magpapaalam ba ako or what," she said.

"But I didn't do that kasi parang I didn't really think naman na God wants me out of the morning show and then I wasn't sure. Pero I was praying, ‘God dapat ba talaga ako dito?’" she added.

In January, Peralejo, Bernadette Sembrano, Ginger Conejero and Youtube sensation Bekimon bid goodbye to the show.

Miss Universe 4th runner up Venus Raj and MYX VJ Iya Villania, on the other hand, were the new additions to the UKG family.

Kristine Hermosa To Continue Acting, Sets Her Limitations

Actor Oyo Boy Sotto said his wife, actress Kristine Hermosa, is not dropping her showbiz career.

In an interview during the premiere of "Who's That Girl?," Sotto told ABS-CBN News that there is no reason for Hermosa to stop acting.

"Hindi ko naman siya pinagbabawalan because she knows her limitations naman. So alam naman niya, if she wants to work, okay lang," said Sotto.

He added: "Basta okay ang schedule huwag lang masyadong busy tulad ng dati. Siyempre gusto ko naman ng pamilya," he said.

Hermosa, on the other hand, said she is still waiting for the right projects to come.

"I'm still resting, rest muna ako. We'll see kung may magandang offer, kung may magandang projects. Pero, as of now, wala pa naman silang name-mention sa akin. It depends kung okay din sa kanila ‘yong limitations namin ni Oyo, kasi medyo maselan ‘yong limitations na ‘yon," she said.

The newlyweds are now ready to become parents, saying they are already excited to see their little angles.

When asked if Hermosa is having difficult time conceiving as what is being rumored, Sotto replied: "Malapit na ngang mabuntis. Tsismis lang ‘yon. Baka bukas buntis na si Tin hindi ninyo alam. Kaya maluwag ang suot, hindi ninyo halata."

In the meantime, they are enjoying their time together.

Sotto and Hermosa tied the knot last month after going steady for more than a year.

Sarah Is Hurt Over Rayver-Cristine Issue

Popstar princess Sarah Geronimo admitted she went through a lot of pain when she and her rumored former boyfriend Rayver Cruz went separate ways.

“Showbiz News Ngayon” quoted a special report of "Yes Magazine" editor-in-chief Joan Maglipon wherein several revelations were made regarding the much-talked about love triangle involving Geronimo, Cruz, and actress Cristine Reyes.

According to the said report, Geronimo and Cruz indeed had a “personal relationship” but it did not last long.

This was because Anna Dasig, one of Geronimo’s closest friends, discovered that Cruz was courting Reyes when his relationship with Geronimo was still ongoing.

Cruz also allegedly denied to Reyes his relationship with Geronimo.

Geronimo admitted that this terribly hurt her.

“Ang pagkakamali ko po, akala ko kaya akong ipaglaban no’ng taong ipinaglalaban ko po. Sobra ko pong minahal kahit hindi kami nagkakasama... Nakita naman po nina mommy iyon. ‘Yong mga diskusyunan po namin, talagang ipinaglaban ko siya. Nanaginip po ako na sumisigaw na lang ako, umiiyak ako, kasi hanggang sa panaginip ipinaglalaban ko siya... kaya sobrang masakit po,” Geronimo told Maglipon.

Judy Ann Santos, who is close to Geronimo, attested to the hardships the singer went through.

Santos said: “She was hurt, very hurt. Niyakap ko siya at umiyak lang siya. Alam ko naman na ‘yong moment na ‘yon, ‘yon lang ang kailangan. Someone to comfort her,” Santos said.

Cruz said he decided to move on because he could no longer “wait” for Geronimo. He stressed though that he loved the actress-singer sincerely.

Geronimo’s parents, meanwhile, revealed that they really got worried about their daughter during that time.

Mommy Divine said it was painful to see that Cruz nearly destroyed their daughter’s dreams.

In a prayer that Mommy Divine shared, she asked: “Bakit ganito? Bakit ito po bang taong ito ang sisira sa ibinigay mo, na itinakda mo para sa amin? Bakit ganito ang naging bunga? Bakit, ito bang taong ito ang sisira ng pangarap ng anak ko? Ng pangarap namin? Ng pagkatao ng anak ko? Huwag naman.”

Maria Aragon's Next Stop: 'Good Morning America'

After “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the next stop for Filipino-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon is ABC’s morning news and talk show “Good Morning America” in New York City on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

A family member of the Aragon family made this confirmation in an interview with Winnipeg Free Press.

International singing sensation Charice, who was also discovered on YouTube, also guested on the top-rating morning show in 2008.

Exactly a week ago, Aragon’s video of “Born This Way” caught the attention of international star Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga tweeted about the 10-year-old Filipina, whom she described as “the future."

Since then, Aragon experienced instant fame. A radio station in Winnipeg interviewed Aragon.

Later, American host DeGeneres invited Aragon to her award-winning TV show.

Aragon is also set to sing with Lady Gaga on March 3 in the latter’s Toronto concert.

“I really can't believe what's happening these past few days, my goodness! im really overwhelmed,” Aragon tweeted.

"It's very different than what I used to do at home. Before, I used to just make YouTube videos. And now I'm getting interviewed by a lot of different people," Aragon told Winnipeg Free Press.

It seems like Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo needs more time to mend her heart after turning emotional at a recent Valentine concert.

During the "What Love Is" concert with Concert King Martin Nievera, a teary-eyed Geronimo shared her insights on love as she said: "Hindi masasaktan ang isang tao kung hindi siya totoong nagmahal o nagmamahal. Cruz also admitted that he had loved Geronimo, but decided not to pursue the singer in deference to the wishes of the Pop Princess’s parents.

Instead of dropping names, Geronimo opted to give advice to young girls experiencing the same fate in love.

Drama actress Alessandra de Rossi has shrugged off rumors that there is a building tension between her and actress Melissa Ricks.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Wednesday, De Rossi denied that her intimate scenes with actor Jake Cuenca in the primetime series “Green Rose” triggered Ricks's reported jealous sparks.

Star Cinema is once again gearing for another hit comedy movie this 2011, with comedian Eugene Domingo and romantic comedy princess Toni Gonzaga topbilling it.

Talking to “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Wednesday, Gonzaga shared her excitement for this upcoming movie.

“Alam ko kung gaano kahusay si Ate Uge (Domingo). I’m really excited dahil marami akong matututunan sa kanya,” she said.

Domingo, on the other hand, said she is really looking forward to be working with Gonzaga again after 5 years.

“Nakakatuwa na after ilang years, makakasama ko ulit si Toni. [Si] Toni Gonzaga ang isa sa mga hinahangaan natin na ang dami daming kayang gawin. Alam mong napakasayang tao. I’m really looking forward to working with her, being with her,” said Domingo.

Gonzaga and Domingo first worked together in 2006 in the movie, “You are the One.”

Actor Wendell Ramos is also joining them in the upcoming movie. “I’m excited and I’m honored na of course after noong so many years, nakapagwork ako [ulit] dito sa Star Cinema,” he said.

The movie will be in the hands of veteran director Jose Javier Reyes.

“I’m having really good vibes that this is going to be a lot of fun. At ang isang kasiyahan niyan ay ang tagal tagal ko nang nakakatrabaho si Uge but this is the first time na makakatrabaho ko si Toni Gonzaga,” said Reyes.

'Mocha' Members Star In A Fil-Malaysian Film

Mocha Uson, one of the members of an all-female sing and dance group Mocha, has been tapped to star in a project billed “Crazy Idiots,” with a titillating subtitle “Seksing Masahista.”

The film is a co-production venture between a Filipino company and a Malaysian film outfit.

“It’s high time that we ramp up co-production with foreign investors so that the local film industry must survive. It is also inevitable that foreign actors join the home grown talents,” said John Castillo, younger brother of veteran film director Celso Ad. Castillo.

“Crazy Idiots” is a joint project between him and Malaysian businessman Jaochim Hon.

The younger Castillo, who also directed most parts of the film, reiterated that it was his brother who initiated a mutual filmmaking exchange between the Philippines and Malaysia.

“Remember the movie ‘Pikoy’? It was also a joint venture between a Malaysian company and Celso’s film outfit. It has Filipino and Malaysian stars in it. It clicked among the Malaysian and Filipino moviegoers. Because the film market is very diverse, we have to be exploratory,” said John.

Aside from Mocha, other members of the group are also part of the cast, namely Mae de la Cerna and Jhane Santaguiel.

Filipino hunk actor Zyruz Imperial provides the leading man role, while a host of Malaysian stars are also in the film.

To add a multiracial worldview of the film, Malaysian movie director Z. Lokman also helped in directing the movie.

In a press conference, Chiu told ABS-CBN News that she spoke with Atkins over the phone on Tuesday.

As for actor Jason Abalos, Chiu’s rumored suitor, the actress said Abalos is just a friend.

Radio’s Prettiest Face Comes To TV

Kamakailan lamang ay pumirma ng contract ang radio jock na si Andrea Manzano or Andi sa GMA Network. She is now one of the jocks for Party Pilipinas.

Bukod sa nakilala si Andi dahil kamag-anak niya si Edu Manzano at Luis Manzano, Andi also made a name for herself by being a jock sa isang sikat na radio station. Bukod pa rito ay nanalo din siya sa MTV Philippines VJ Hunt noong 2007.

Ano naman ang pakiramdam niya na parte na siya ng talents ng Kapuso Network? “Syempre you’re honored, you’re happy. I’ve been with QTV tapos I transitioned to GMA. Feeling ko nag-level up na din ako somehow,” natutuwang sagot ni Andi during their presscon, “Thank you also to GMA for the opportunities that they’re giving to us girls [Ellen Adarna and Gwen Zamora]. Hindi rin naging madali ang transition ng dalaga from radio to TV. Ayon kay Andi, masyado daw kasing laidback ang setting ng radio unlike sa TV, “Mahirap kasi on radio you don’t care how you look. Pero on TV you have to be more conscious – the way you talk, the way your hands move. All that you have to look at…and then your facial expressions. You have to be always jolly and happy.”

Dagdag pa niya, nakatulong rin naman ang kanyang mga dating shows para mas mapadali ang transition na ito, “I think I was able to transition with MTV and QTV. I was able to learn and to practice at the same time. Now I’m here and excited naman ako.”

Ilang beses rin nilinaw ni Andi during their presscon na she’ll be hosting as of the moment. “I wanna do first what I think I do best, which is hosting. I’ve been hosting naman for a long time.”

Wala ba siyang planong sumabak rin sa acting in the future? “Syempre I don’t wanna say naman na I’m not gonna do acting and show up in a TV show na naga-act pala ako. We’ll find out in the future pero now, it’s more of hosting. If there’s a role na iyong nakakatuwa naman, na medyo kaugali ko, na I can do it, I’ll do it naman,” seryosong sagot ni Andi.

Now that she’s in showbiz, is Andi Manzano ready to face intrigues? “I’m learning naman at the process. I’m surrounded with people who are a part of the industry, so tinuturuan din naman nila ako kung paano i-handle iyong mga intriga. And I’m good friends naman with Mo. Paglilinaw din niya dahil lamang daw ito sa mga kaibigan at sa trabaho niya, “I hang out with showbiz friends, so they think I’m super mataray and not approachable. I hope people get to see the real me. Of course semi-real because I have to lie and everything. The way I am at camp, that’s how I am in real life. Super like a boy. I like to dress up, but trust me I can be super cowboy.”

Solenn has made a strong impression sa mga viewers at pati na rin sa kanyang mga kapwa castaways. Kuwento nga during the presscon ng Survivor ay marami raw sa mga lalaking castaways ang may crush sa dalaga. “I’m happy!,” natutuwang reaksyon ni Solenn nang amin itong ikuwento sa kanya, “I didn’t know that, but yes, it’s always a good feeling to know that. Less-than-perfect nga ang kondisyon nila ng kanyang mga kapwa castaways dahil ayon sa kanya, bukod sa malamok ay kailangan rin nilang tiisin ang weather conditions sa Thailand kung saan nila isinagawa ang challenges, “It’s really more of the weather, the rain, and the mosquitoes. The rest okay lang. You can get used to it. But when you watch it, I think you’d understand. Sobrang hirap.”

May point nga raw sa pangalawang araw nila sa isla na gusto na niyang sumuko dahil sa weather conditions ng lugar, “The second day [I wanted to quit]. For me, it’s just the weather condition. The weather condition made me wanna quit, maybe five to ten times during the game.”

Bukod sa kondisyon ng environment, ang pinakamatinding kalaban nila dito ay ang kanilang sarili. Ang kadalasang problema nga ng mga nagiging castaways ay ang pakiramdam na pagka-homesick sa kanilang mga pamilya. Hindi ba niya ito naranasan? “I used to live in France before so I’d see my parents twice a year lang. I’m used to it,” paliwanag ni Solenn, “but it’s different to not have any communication, not calling, not knowing what’s going on in the family. Of course I really missed talking to them and my friends.”

Sa kabila ng hirap na dinanas niya sa Survivor, willing naman daw ang dalaga na maging castaway ulit sa show. Ngunit may isang kondisyon lamang siya kung siya’y sasali ulit,“Now that I get to see things from a different perspective, I would do it again if it was during summer. If it’s monsoon season, no way. For me that was the hardest, iyong rain. Pero kung summer, I can live there for fifty days.”

At ang pinakamahalagang lesson na natutunan ni Solenn sa Survivor? “Trust no one. Just trust yourself,” diretsong sagot ng dalaga, “I’ve been betrayed, but I know it’s part of the game so no hard feelings, but I just don’t trust anyone. And keep your mind focused on the game.”

Dahil sa malapit nang matapos ang kanyang primetime show, saan naman kaya natin susunod na mapapanood si Kat? “Hindi ko pa alam iyong title, pero meron na [sa] Sine Novela,” kuwento ng dalaga. Magiging superhero din ba si Lea sa story?

“Actually hindi ko pa alam, kasi nag-give way ang taping ng Barbell para sa shoot ng My Valentine Girls kasi pinapaganda namin ‘yung movie. Yung bawat detalye makikita niyo ng malaking malaki so talagang career ang lighting, ang lahat ng ginagawa namin dapat bawat kilos tama. Para talagang walang mairereklamo yung mga manonood!”

Kris Aquino Holds B-Day Medical Mission

Actress and TV host Kris Aquino is celebrating her 40th birthday, which falls on February 14, through a medical mission in 3 different places.

The presidential sister said she has kicked off her birthday through a medical mission and toy distribution in Tarlac, her hometown.

In an interview for TV Patrol Sabado, the Queen of All Media stressed that she wanted to share her many life blessings. More than a thousand Tarlaquenos flocked to see her.

Kris says, she particularly chose free cervical cancer and flu vaccination among many others for her medical mission."Vaccination is so important because primary health care pero mahal so kung makahanap ako ng sponsor, bonggang bongga at nakahanap nga ako!"

The medical mission in Tarlac is just the first in a series that Kris is doing. "This is my first (birthday celebration), second ko sa Sunday, sa Leyte (where I will have the) same as what i did here in Tarlac. Then my last is on Feb. 24 with Governor Vilma Santos in Lemery, Batanggas."

Politics

She shrugged off allegations that she is doing these medical missions as part of her plan to run in the coming elections.

"Marami pa akong kailangan tapusin para sa mga anak ko. Ayoko ever ma-accuse na ginamit ko kung ano mang posisyon para sa kaginhawahan ng pamilya ko.

Yet, she did not close her doors to a possible political career: "If ever that time will come, it will be after my brother's presidency."

Birthday wish

Kris also revealed her birthday wish: "I want freedom (annulment of marriage with cager James Yap). Gusto ko na legally matapos na para maging malaya na kami ni James (at) makahanap ng kaligayahan na hindi namin nabigay sa isa't isa."

She said she did not invite James to her birthday events to avoid an "awkward situation" and because "hindi rin nya ako in-invite sa birthday nya."

Kris shared that she had an intimate birthday dinner and mass on Saturday in her home with family members and select friends from the show business and politics.

As to whether she invited someone special for her birthday celebration, Kris didn't give details but hinted that there is someone special. "Inuunahan ko na, kung sino ang mapapanood niyo na kasabay namin nagdarasal, gusto nila makadasal family ko. please kung ano yung mga litratrato sa mass ko huwag niyo lagyan ng malisya baka hindi na siya makipagdasal sa akin."

Kris said that her brother, President Benigno Aquino III was there. However, he had no date "because napaso na siya sa mga events ko noon."

Kris also revealed what she got for herself for her birthday. "I'm turning 40 on Monday, I dont need jewelry (or) expensive bags, but it's nice to have properties."

She said these properties are not for her. "Para sa mga anak ko, para pag hindi na ako nagtratrabaho ng ganitong kasipag, may paparenta kami. It's an investment for the future of my children."

On Monday, her new game show, The Price is Right, will debut on the Kapamilya network.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta did not mince words on Sunday when she addressed anew an issue involving her controversial Marie France billboard ad.

In her live interview on “The Buzz,” Cuneta noted that it doesn’t make sense that Marie France would put up a billboard with her altered photos and risk ruining both their reputations and credibility. She said they are “not stupid” to do that.

“You come out with a billboard like that and then you see this girl on TV shows like ‘The Buzz’ or ‘Star Power’ every week, tapos iba ‘yong itsura. Parang ang laki laki ko naman sa ‘Star Power’ tapos sa billboard sobrang liit ko, sino po bang mag-mumukhang tanga doon, di ba?” the megastar said, referring to a singing competition she’s currently hosting.

According to Cuneta, she is picky when it comes to accepting endorsements and that when she endorses a product or service, “I have to believe in it.” She said she would never deceive the public.

She said endorsers are also made “to sign something [because] there has to be truth in advertising.”

She also pointed out that all her photos were done by noted photographer Raymond Isaac, who is known for his ability and honesty.

“Walang dinaya doon. Bakit? Kasi po it's a series of billboard na lalabas over the coming several months, ‘yong progress ng weight loss ko… hanggang you reach the ideal weight para makita na it's working and it's gradual,” she said.

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino disclosed that she received a bracelet from her estranged husband, star cager James Yap.

On Twitter, Aquino, who turned 40 today, February 14, said she was “touched by the gesture."

For the first time ever, ABS-CBN contract stars Angel Locsin, KC Concepcion, Anne Curtis and Bea Alonzo have joined forces to do a special project.

"It was a pictorial that we shot altogether. Ang galing ni [photographer] Mark Nicdao napagsama-sama niya kaming lahat. Ito ay [coffee table book]," Curtis said during a press conference for a television series called “Green Rose”

Curtis, who is hosting "Showtime," said she hopes that all of them can appear in one television project in the future.

"Sana magka-show kaming lahat. Pero ang ginagawa ng ABS-CBN ay hinahati-hati kaming lahat, kasi alangan namang nasa isang show kaming lahat. At least lahat may isang teleserye or show. Kasi kung nasa isang show kami baka hindi na kami mabigyan ng ibang shows. Pero sana, kahit guesting or something, ay magkasama kaming lahat," she said.

Bea Comfortable Working With Robin

Drama actress Bea Alonzo said she is now comfortable working with action star Robin Padilla.

In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Thursday, Alonzo, who earlier admitted that she is nervous to be paired with Padilla, revealed she is not anymore anxious on doing scenes with the latter.

“Hindi na ako intimidated sa kanya. I’m really really comfortable now. Mapagbiro rin pala siya. Hindi pala siya ganoon kaseryosong tao. Nakakabiruan ko rin siya,” she said.

Alonzo also came to the defense of Padilla’s wife, Mariel Rodriguez, who was reported to be guarding her husband during their tapings.

“Hindi ko pa naman siya nakikita [sa tapings],” she stated.

According to Alonzo, rather than focusing on malicious intrigues, she just wants to do her best in their forthcoming television series.

Meanwhile, Alonzo said she is elated after her now defunct series “Magkaribal” got a nomination at the prestigious New York Festivals International TV and Film Awards 2011.

“I’m happy to hear that. I’m really proud of 'Magkaribal.' Gusto ko rin i-congratulate ang 'Dahil May Isang Ikaw' which is also a nominee,” she said.

The actress said she is very excited to attend the international event along with other “Magkaribal” stars.

“I hope so. With everyone kung puwede, especially with Ate Gretchen because I’m dying to travel with her,” said Alonzo.

Valerie Bitter Over 'Happy Yipee Yehey?'

Television host-actress Valerie Concepcion shot down speculations that she is harboring ill-feelings toward ABS-CBN.

According to rumors, she took it against the network's management when they did not tap her to join its newest noontime show, “Happy Yipee Yehey!"

Concepcion vehemently denied the issue.

"Wala, wala namang ganoon. Ako naman masaya ako kasi may work din namang dumarating, may mga blessings pa rin,” Concepcion told ABS-CBN News.

During the Posh Nails event on Tuesday, Concepcion added that she fully respects the management’s decision.

“Wala namang sama ng loob, wala talaga. Ever since, alam ko na hindi ako kasama sa bagong noontime. They wanted me either on a morning show or soap so I already know noong nawala ‘yong ‘[Pilipinas] Win na Win’ na hindi ako sa noontime,” she explained.

The 23-year-old actress hosted the defunct noontime shows “Wowowee” and “Pilipinas Win na Win.”

She is now seen on rival network TV5. When asked about her supposed transfer, Concepcion quickly clarified: “Freelancer naman talaga ako ever since [sa ABS-CBN]. Per program ang contract ako. Pero hindi ko po iiwan ang ABS at hindi rin naman po ako magiging exclusive sa TV 5.”

She also assured her fans that she will still appear on ABS-CBN.

“Kung makikita ninyo man po ako sa TV 5, puwede ninyo pa rin akong makita sa ABS. Hindi kayo dapat mag-worry... Huwag silang malungkot kasi pwede pa rin naman akong lumabas sa ABS,” she said.

Celebrating V-day

Meanwhile, Concepcion revealed that she will spend her Valentine’s Day in Singapore.

And who is Concepcion’s lucky date? “Si Fiona [‘yong daughter ko] at ‘yong family ko,” she said.

Concepcion divulged that she and her boyfriend, cager Dondon Hontiveros, had an advance Valentine date in Bohol.

“He’s planning to go to Singapore with his family but the practice starts at 14th. So hindi talaga kami magkasama ng Valentine’s. We went for daytrip in Bohol. Na-enjoy ko ang bakasyon. Daytrip lang kasi bawal akong mag-overnight,” she said.

When asked if she is set to tie the knot with Hontiveros, Concepcion replied: “No. Si Lord lang ang nakakaalam. Kung siya na ang gusto ni Lord, masaya ako, pero kung hindi pa, okay lang din. I really believe si God naman has plans for us so hope for the best. Basta sa ngayon, masaya tayo, enjoy lang natin ang company ng isa't isa. I’m not in a rush to get married. Cristine Reyes To Do New Movie After 'Kristine'

Sultry actress Cristine Reyes is set to do a new movie under Viva Films after her television series “Kristine” ends.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, Reyes revealed that Carlo Aquino will be her leading man in the horror project.

She disclosed that the movie’s storyline will focus on a certain feng shui belief.
