MANILA, Philippines - R&B Princess Kyla is engaged to cager Richard "Rich" Alvarez, her boyfriend of almost 5 years.
Kyla surprised everyone when she announced that she is getting married during the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) "Buwis Mo Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas" campaign kick-off. According to her, Alvarez proposed to her last week.
"Marriage is coming, coming soon. Oh yes, [I'm engaged]," the multi-awarded singer said as she showed off her engagement ring.
The 30-year-old singer said she and Alvarez have yet to iron out the schedules and other details of their upcoming wedding.
"Wala pang date, pinag-uusapan pa namin. We're not sure kasi depende 'yon sa mga kamag-anak niya rin kasi. Ang mga kapatid niya nasa States lahat. So kung ano ‘yong availability, kailangan naming mag-meet somewhere para lahat makapunta," said Kyla.
She assured though that she will not keep her wedding day a secret.
The singer wants to have an intimate and traditional church wedding.
"Gusto ko traditional, 'yong naglalakad sa church, gusto ko sa church talaga. Medyo may pagka-Filipina ako, minsan ka lang kasing ikasal, di ba, kaya maglalakad na ko sa aisle," she added.
Alvarez is playing for Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters of the Philippine Basketball Association.
