Actress-politician Aiko Melendez and her boyfriend, Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses, have parted ways, Boy Abunda confirmed on Tuesday.Talking on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Abunda, who manages Melendez’s show business career, confirmed that the 2 have broken up on Monday.
“I was on the phone with Aiko. Yes, she’s confirming, it’s confirmed na naghiwalay po sila kahapon,” he said.
Abunda stressed though that he did not insist to learn the reasons behind the unfortunate event. He said Melendez must be going through a lot of pain as of the moment.
“Reasons ay hindi ko na po pinanghimasukan dahil I wanted to respect the pain, whatever Aiko is going through. It was Aiko that I spoke to... I was also very careful because I would imagine that the couple is still trying to fix things up. Napakabago pa at napaka-fresh,” he said.
Moreover, Abunda declared that Melendez will not issue a statement regarding what happened unless it becomes essential to do so.
“Aiko will not issue an official statement, she’s not going to be interviewed, she’s not going to talk about what happened, not until it is necessary to do so,” he said.
“Ako ay nagsasalita bilang manager, bilang kapitbahay. So iyan po mga kaibigan, we are confirming that but she’s in pain,” Abunda added.
He also gave an advise to his talent and friend.
“Aik if you’re watching, this too shall pass,” he said.
