Carla Abellana has belied the rumors that movie producer Lily Monteverde had barred her from promoting her movie with Laguna Governor ER Ejercito, the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga.”
During the recent launching of 2011 MMFF entries, Abellana clarified that Monteverde did not gave her direct orders to refrain from promoting her film with Ejercito.
She said, “Wala naman siyang (Monteverde) sinasabing bawal, bawal. Wala naman siyang sinasabing ganon.”
According to Abellana, she is just giving due respect and support to Monteverde, and the Regal Films family in general, considering that she is an exclusive talent of the said production firm.
She explained, “Because exclusive movie talent ako ng Regal ay ‘yon siyempre ang priority ko is ‘yung ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,’ [which is Regal Films’s official entry in the 2011 MMFF.]”
