Despite her success in the entertainment industry, actress-host Toni Gonzaga keeps her feet on the ground.
In an interview on "Kris TV" aired on Tuesday, Gonzaga told host Kris Aquino that her parents always remind her to stay simple and humble.
"Ang tinuturo sa akin ng mommy at ng daddy ko, ayaw niya kaming mataas ang way of living," she said.
"Sabi (nila) kahit mataas ang way of living eh pinapanatili pa rin ng daddy ko na simple pa rin at hindi extravagant.
"Ayaw talaga [nila 'yung nagmamalaki]. Minsan nga sa 'The Buzz' (where Gonzaga is a host) sasabihin sa akin ng daddy ko 'nagpapasosyal ka, huwag kang magpasosyal, stick to your roots. Bakit nagpapasosyal ka,'" she added.
Gonzaga then thanked her parents for being strict and conservative.
"Thank you (dad) for always keeping my feet on the ground. Maraming salamat dahil ikaw ang nagbibigay ng realidad sa buhay. To my mom, thank you for being my shock absorber. Thank you for taking care of me and our family. And thank you for always fighting for us," she said.
