Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup is dedicating her victory to her family.
“Lahat ng ito bale wala kung wala ang papa ko, [ang] pamilya ko,” the newly-crowned beauty queen said.
It has been a while since she last spent time with her family, who lives in General Santos City.
Supsup’s father, on the other hand, said he is proud of his daughter’s achievement.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya, dahil bilang ama, nagbigay siya ng achievement na hindi ko inaasahan, na talagang mangyayaring magiging Binibining Pilipinas siya,” he said.
The entire General Santos City is gearing up for Supsup’s homecoming parade on Wednesday.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, General Santos City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio congratulated Supsup, who was crowned last Sunday.
“We're ecstatic and yes, she deserves indeed the crown of Binibining Pilipinas Universe," she said.
“It was toss up eh, all of the girls were very beautiful and smart and very confident as well during the question and answer portion. We really didn’t know but happily, Shamcey actually made it,” the Gensan mayor added.
Supsup is scheduled to meet President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday.
