She may be one of the country’ sexiest stars but actress Angel Locsin said she doesn’t believe in casual sex.

“I’m not like that. I cannot accept that. It’s not me,” Locsin said in an interview with The Philippine Star, which appeared on Monday.

In her latest film, “Unofficially Yours,” opposite actor John Lloyd Cruz, Locsin plays a lifestyle writer for a newspaper who engages in casual relationships.

“Basically, it’s a story about a guy who believes so much in love then falls in love with someone who doesn’t. The girl practices casual relationships, non-committal, no ties. The guy’s character wants the girl to believe in love again, that a formal relationship is better than a casual one,” the film’s director Cathy Garcia-Molina said in a statement.

“My character is liberated,” Locsin said. “It’s something new for me.”

But while she understands her character, Locsin said it doesn’t mean she completely identifies with the idea of casual sex.

“I believe it’s best if a relationship begins with love rather than lust or any other intention,” she said.

Locsin is “exclusively” seeing footballer player Phil Younghusband.

“I feel that malayo pa and that this isn’t it yet,” she said in the interview.

“There’s more happiness to come, and mas excited ako dun. I treasure the memories we have so far, but I believe na may mas maganda pa na patutunguhan.”

Actress Angel Locsin got a surprise from her rumored boyfriend Phil Younghusband while she was promoting her film "Unofficially Yours" on “The Buzz” on Sunday.

Younghusband sent some gifts to Locsin, including a note and a recorder with a special message congratulating her on her new movie.

During an interview with host Toni Gonzaga, Locsin slipped and admitted how she feels for the football player despite their agreement not to commit themselves to any label.

Angel enjoys 'unofficial' romance with Phil

Actress Angel Locsin explained that though she's comfortable with her "unofficial" relationship with football star Phil Younghusband, she's still dreaming that everything would be "official."

"At the end of the day gusto mo pa din na official. Mahirap kasi na hindi ka sure, pero mahirap din namang pilitin kung hindi pa naayon sa panahon," Locsin said in an interview during a press conference for her latest movie "Unofficially Yours" with John Lloyd Cruz as her leading man on Tuesday.

Locsin said that until now she's still unsure about the real status of her relationship with Younghusband but stressed that what is important is that they are both in love.

"May confusion inaamin ko naman 'yon lalo na kung tinatanong niyo ako kung kayo ba? Pero hindi ko po talaga alam. Basta ang alam ko lang ay may love, in love kami pareho," Locsin said.

She added: "Ang masasabi ko po ay yes nandoon ang love, pero kung ano ang label, yun po ang malaking question mark sa amin. Kasi hindi pa namin napag-uusapan ang lahat."

This coming February 14, Locsin and Younghusband will be celebrating their first Valentine together.

Last year, Younghusband made a bold move when he publicly asked Locsin for Valentine's date via Twitter.

Asked about their plans for Valentine's Day, Locsin replied: "Sa Valentine's Day kasama ko kayo, kaya wala pang lakad."

"Unofficially Yours" directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina will hit theaters nationwide this February 15.

Cathy Garcia Molina revealed she is aware that a lot of people are expecting her upcoming film “Unofficially Yours” to beat the records set by “No Other Woman” and “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin.”

“Unofficially Yours” is headlined by actor John Lloyd Cruz and actress Angel Locsin.

The new movie will be a reunion for the two stars after appearing in the highly rated TV series, "Imortal."

Molina said she would rather concentrate on making the movie better than be pressured by people’s expectations.

“Siyempre nandoon ‘yung tensyon, takot, lalo na at galing sa dalawang super blockbuster ang Star Cinema. And knowing na ang 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival entries natin ganon din, magiging super mega blockbuster. So it’s a tall order for us,” she told Push.com.ph.

Molina said their only aim is to deliver a good story to the audience.

“Ang lagi lang naman naming intensyon eh makapagbigay ng magandang kuwento sa inyo, ma-entertain kayo at magustuhan ninyo. Kung kumita, bonus na lang ‘yun. Pero ang intensyon talaga namin makagawa ng quality movie,” she said.

Meanwhile, Molina expressed her gratitude to Locsin for trusting her about doing intimate scenes with Cruz in the film.

“Kasi medyo may mga maseselan na eksena, and I asked Angel to trust me. When we worked on our first day, naramdaman ko ang bonggang bonggang trust niya,” she said.

While she declined to share more details about the movie, Molina said its story is something the audience would learn from.

“Kasi kung ikukwento ko in one sentence, it’s about a man who falls in love with someone who doesn’t want to fall in love. Ganon lang kasimple sa akin yung pelikula. Sana kasing excited ninyo kami. Phil Younghusband and actress Angel Locsin were named this year's "favorite real-life couple" in an online poll conducted by Yahoo! OMG and published in the January 2012 issue of entertainment magazine Star Studio.

The couple got a score of 36%.

Their relationship started when Younghusband asked Locsin to be his Valentine date via microblogging site Twitter.

While they continue to say that they are not an official couple yet, and that labels are not important in relationships, a lot of people are fond of the two because of the affection they show to each other.

Angel Locsin, John Lloyd resume shooting for their movie

Angel Locsin and actor John Lloyd Cruz resumed shooting for their first movie after taking a break because of some script revisions.

While she cannot divulge details about their movie, Locsin described it as "different" and "very interesting."

"Iba siya. Lahat naman ng projects natin sinasabing iba siya. Pero iba po talaga itong ginagawa namin, ibang story. Usually, hindi siya pinag-uusapan. Pero alam natin na nangyayari siya sa paligid natin. Very interesting 'yung topic," she said.

Locsin admitted that this is her first time to do a romantic comedy film that is also a bit daring.

But the actress sees no problem with it since she is already comfortable acting alongside Cruz, who was her co-star in defunct ABS-CBN series "Imortal."

"Close na close na nga kami ni JL. Super close na kami. Pero 'yung love scenes, hindi naman siya 'yung tipong nakakainis panoorin. Sakto lang naman po. First time namin pareho gagawin 'yung mga medyo maselang eksena dito sa pelikula," she said.

"Si John Lloyd nakatrabaho ko na sa 'Imortal' kaya kumportable na kami. 'Yun nga lang, iba 'yung character namin dito kaya kailangan pa namin kunin 'yung rhythm ng isa't isa. Pero dahil didiretso na 'yung shooting, madali na," the actress added.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com on Thursday, Locsin said she believes that like her, Manzano is very happy now.

"I think so. We are both happy," said Locsin during the Anak TV Seal Awards in Quezon City.

Manzano recently admitted that he and actress Jennylyn Mercado are now an item, while Locsin is in a relationship with football star Phil Younghusband.

Angel Locsin revealed that her rumored boyfriend, Philippine Azkals heartthrob Phil Younghusband, had her name embroidered on his football shoes.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News during the 6th anniversary of the Eastwood Walk of Fame on Thursday, Locsin said that he had actually seen Younghusband’s pair of shoes with her name on it.

John Lloyd Cruz recently confirmed that he will be doing a movie with Angel Locsin, but rumors say that some of his supporters want him to be paired with his other former leading ladies instead.

Nervous Angel Locsin Cheers for Phil

Actress Angel Locsin showed up at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Thursday to show support for her rumored boyfriend Phil Younghusband and the rest of the Philippine Azkals in their second match against Kuwait.

The Metro Manila Development Authority on Monday ordered the tarpaulins of actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis pulled out for lack of permit, violating the National Building Code and for being offensive.

A MMDA press statement said the tarpaulins on Boni-EDSA showed the 2 actresses both clad in bras.

It said MMDA will tear down similar illegal billboards on EDSA-Trinoma and EDSA-Pasay.

Curtis, however, denied that she has such a billboard along Boni-Edsa.

“Hello I don't think I have any billboards along Boni-Edsa to begin with. Most specially in a bra :) I think @MMDA may be wrong :p” she tweeted.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos earlier asked advertisers to take down sexy billboards of the Philippine Volcanoes, the country's rugby team, along EDSA.

The billboards feature members of the team showing off their bodies as they posed in their underwear.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino earlier filed 8 cases against 3 billboard operators illegally maintaining billboards in Quezon City for violations of the National Building Code and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and for lack of the necessary permits.

The billboards, located along E. de los Santos Avenue, Bonifacio Avenue and Immaculate Conception (Cubao), were erected without any building permit and encroached on setback requirements prescribed in the Building Code. All eight billboards had received notices of rolldown/ removal and confiscation of the illegal advertising tarpaulins from the Local Building Official of Quezon City.

A total of 18 cases have been filed against illegal billboard operators, the first batch of 10 billboards having been filed in Makati City by the MMDA Chairman last June.

An excited Angel Locsin arrived at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday night, stopping to take pictures with fans.

Locsin is set to attend the North American premier of her new movie “In the Name of Love. “

Marian Rivera, Sam Pinto and Angel Locsin lead 'FHM' 100 Sexiest Women poll

Actress Marian Rivera is leading the 2011 "FHM" 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll as of May 27.

Rivera is followed by model-actress Sam Pinto, who rose to fame when she joined ABS-CBN’s reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2009.

Last year's FHM’s sexiest woman Angel Locsin, on the other hand, landed on the third spot while Cristine Reyes grabbed the fourth position.

Actresses Solenn Heussaff, Katrina Halili, Lovi Poe, Ellen Adarna, Jennylyn Mercardo and Valerie Concepcion landed on the 5th to 10th spots, respectively.
