Sarah gears up for birthday concert, new album

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo is busy preparing for her birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum on July 7.

ABS-CBN News caught up with Geronimo during the pictorial for the said concert.

“Wala pa pong final na lineup ng guests pero inaayos na po ang lineup ng songs,” she said.

Geronimo, 23, hopes that many people will come and see her perform at the Big Dome once again.

“Sana po abangan niyo ang aking birthday concert. Mag-24 years old na po ako on July 7 at the Araneta Coliseum,” she said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo said that aside from her concert, she also has a new album coming up.

“Tonight po nag-pictorial kami para sa album ko rin, sa next album na gagawin ko to be released soon,” she said.

Sarah, Gerald deny secret relationship

Sarah Geronimo and actor Gerald Anderson vehemently denied that they have a secret relationship.

The denial comes on the heels of reports that Anderson was spotted outside Geronimo’s dressing room.

“Hindi naman. Siyempre kung magkaroon ako ng chance yeah sige. But hindi eh kasi halos hindi kami nagkikita. Once lang kami nagkita, nung isang araw lang. Text text kami. Kinakamusta ko siya,” said Anderson.

As for Geronimo, she said: “That is so not true. Hindi po. Once lang po yun. Noong Christmas po noong inabot niya yung Christmas gift niya.”

Speculations were further fanned when Geronimo revealed that Anderson gave her a necklace for Christmas.

It was also reported that Miguel Villafuerte, son of Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte, has stopped wooing the singer.

Meanwhile, Geronimo was also prodded if she is willing to be Anderson’s date on Valentine’s Day.

“Kung libre po ako at libre siya, tignan po natin kung puwede,” she said.

Geronimo and Anderson figured in the news after they were paired in two Star Cinema movies last year.

Sarah G wishes to work with Nora Aunor

Sarah Geronimo said she is looking forward to a chance to work with Superstar Nora Aunor.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, Geronimo said she hopes that they can arrange a possible project together.

“I look forward to hearing her sing again at performing with her, kapag bibigyan po ako ng pagkakataon na makasama po siya on one stage,” she said.

Early this year, Aunor left for Boston, Massachusetts to have her vocal chords treated.

Aunor lost her "golden voice" after an alleged botched cosmetic procedures in Japan in March 2010.

Frustrated cook

Geronimo also revealed that she is a frustrated cook and that she wants to pursue a culinary course.

“Yes opo, opo [gusto ko pong mag-cooking lessons] kung mabibigyan ako ng time,” she said.

“Gusto ko rin po career-in ang pagluluto,” she added.

According to Geronimo, for quite some time now, she has been thinking about going to a culinary school to learn a thing or two about cooking.

“Actually matagal na [ako nangangarap na matutong magluto], kaso medyo hindi ako pinapayagang magluto-luto sa kusina kasi may pagka-clumsy po ako,” she said.

“Pero ‘yon, gusto ko na [pag-aralan talaga] since tumatanda na rin po ako and ito nag-e-endorse ako ng mga pagkain, mga gamit sa pagkain pagluluto,” she added.

Sarah G gets necklace from Gerald

Sarah Geronimo received a Tiffany necklace last Christmas from “Budoy” star Gerald Anderson.

“Binigyan niya po ako ng necklace,” Geronimo said at her thanksgiving party for the press on Wednesday night.

Geronimo, who tried not to give details of the gift, was forced to admit that it was a Tiffany necklace with a heart-shaped pendant.

She said that it was personally given to him by Anderson, her leading man in her recent movie “Won’t Last Day Without You.”

Asked what she gave Anderson in return, Geronimo replied: “Niregaluhan po namin siya ng T-shirt.”

In the interview, Geronimo also admitted that Anderson is special to her but stressed that there’s only friendship between the two of them.

“Siyempre, espesyal din naman po 'yung tao. Nakatrabaho natin siya at nakita ko kung gaano naman siya kabuting tao,” she said.

After her controversial heartbreak with actor Rayver Cruz, Geronimo said she’s not yet ready to fall in love again.

New musical show

In the interview, Geronimo also shared her excitement with her musical show titled “Sarah G Live!” which will begin airing on February.

“’Sarah G Live!’ every Sunday night na po ‘yon. (Masaya po ako at) nabigyan lang po ako ng pagkakataon na makakita po sila ng mas marami pang performances,” she said.

Asked of her feelings about having her own show, Geronimo replied: “Siyempre noong una ay ayaw ko. Natatakot ako kasi sariling show na at malaking responsibility ‘yon sa akin as an artist pero napakagandang blessing ito at another challenge para sa akin para mag-grow as an artist and as a person.”

She admitted that with the show’s live format she can’t help but feel nervous.

“Everytime na lumalabas ako on stage at nagpe-perform ay may takot ako. So ito live every Sunday night, so parang every Sunday night ay para akong may concert sa Araneta, live singing po,” she said.

With her upcoming show, Geronimo also said she might take a break from the weekly variety show “ASAP.”

“Baka po magpahinga muna tayo sa ASAP pero kapay may projects na kailangang i-promote ay babalik tayo sa ASAP,” she said.

For her show’s pilot episode, Geronimo admitted that she would like to invite Anderson to sing with her.

"Gusto ko sabi ko sa kanya ay mag-live siya kapag nag-guest siya, sana makapag-live siya,” she said.

Aside from a movie with John Lloyd Cruz, Geronimo is also set to do concert tour this April.

Sarah Geronimo is 2011's most talked-about celeb: poll

Sarah Geronimo is this year's "most talked-about celeb," according to entertainment website Yahoo! OMG.

Geronimo got a score of 47%. The results of the poll are published in the January issue of Star Studio magazine.

Landing in second place is actress Marian Rivera who got a score of 35%, followed by Kris Aquino and Willie Revillame with 25%.

In 2011, Geronimo was all over the news when she figured in a rift with actress Cristine Reyes, who is the girlfriend of actor Rayver Cruz. The Popstar Princess earlier admitted that she had a "personal relationship" with Cruz, but it did not last long.

Sarah Geronimo said she is happy to share her talent with the children of Bantay Bata, ABS-CBN's child welfare program.

Geronimo made the statement after performing at the recently concluded Bantay Bata 163 Christmas party.

"Of course I'm very honored na I'm still part of the [Bantay Bata family]," she told ABS-CBN News.

Sarah Geronimo wears daring dress at 'Won't Last A Day Without You' premiere

Sarah Geronimo's daring dress grabbed the attention of fans and moviegoers during the premiere of her latest film, "'Won't Last A Day Without You."

Geronimo, who has been known to be conservative, wore a short spaghetti strap dark blue sequin dress with a see-through mid-calf hemline during the movie premiere on Wednesday at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

She walked on the red carpet with her leading man, Gerald Anderson.

"We're very happy and overwhelmed kami sa suporta ng mga tao. So maraming salamat po. Sana ganito rin bukas," Geronimo said.

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo and actor Gerald Anderson admitted they were starstruck when they met veteran comedian Joey de Leon for the first time.

De Leon worked with Anderson and Geronimo in the upcoming film "Won't Last A Day Without You."

"Siyempre noong nabasa ko ang script na ang gusto nila ay si Tito Joey natuwa talaga ako at sana matuloy talaga. Pero may daily show siya na Eat Bulaga tapos sa kabila medyo di na kami medyo umasa pero fortunately napapayag si Tito Joey," Geronimo said in a taped interview aired on morning show "KrisTV" on Friday.

Anderson, who also appeared on KrisTV, said he couldn't believe he was acting opposite de Leon.

"Hindi ko alam kung napansin pero bago kami mag-tape nakatingin ako sa kanya tapos 'wow' sabi ko 'totoo ba ito?' Tapos yung PA ko sabi 'bro, papa-picture ako.' Sabi niya mamaya na, kailangan ko munang mag-focus si Joey de Leon ang ka-eksena ko," he said.

Sarah Geronimo has clarified that she and her "Catch Me... I'm In Love" co-star Gerald Anderson are nothing more than just good friends.

“Tamang friendship, kung ano yung nakikita nila sa screen, yun naman yung bunga nung magandang pagtratrabaho namin, yung chemistry,” she explained to Push.com.ph.

Singer Sarah Geronimo has stepped forward to defend her close friend Rachelle Ann Go against rumors romantically linking her to a married man.

Geronimo told Push.com.ph that she knows Go very well, and that she is sure that she couldn't possibly be involved in such a scandalous relationship.

Geronimo, Go, and Yeng Constantino used to hang out regularly.

“We like going to movies tapos kakain. Manunuod kami usually light movies or minsan pagka-nagustuhan namin manunuod kami ng horror, ganun. Mahilig kami sa Filipino dishes and mag-dessert. Meron din kaming mga favorite places na kinakainan,” she said.

However, due to their busy schedules, they no longer get to go out as often as they want to, Geronimo said.

Kean Cipriano admits admiration for Sarah Geronimo

Callalilly lead vocalist Kean Cipriano revealed his admiration for Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo after they got to collaborate in the latter’s album.

During the press conference of “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” last August 2, Cipriano told Push.com.ph: “Sarah is Sarah whatever happens. I like her on and off stage. I admire her, the way she projects herself. She's a good singer, a very good performer.”

Cipriano also did not deny the fact that he is open to the possibility that he would fall for Geronimo.

“Why not? Walang magiging problema dun. Kung okay naman. Ako naman nirerespeto ko lahat ng mga taong nakakasama ko or mga babaeng nakakatrabaho ko. Kung may mabuong maganda, why not,” he explained.

Cipriano, however, clarified he has no plans of meeting Sarah's parents just yet. He said he just wants to take take things slow and not rush things.

“Wala pa naman tayo diyan. I can never tell sa ngayon. Ang importante we get along sa pag-perform siguro. Hindi ko pa naman sobrang close si Sarah. So wala ako sa posisyon para magsalita. But I am happy that we are doing something together. Everything will follow through,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cipriano said he is hoping that he will also get to work with Geronimo in an acting project.

Sarah Geronimo says her parents are still together

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo has denied reports that her parents, Delfin and Divine, have separated.

In a taped interview with “The Buzz”, Sarah said her parents have misunderstandings sometimes but it does not mean that they have parted ways.

“Hindi tayo perpektong pamilya. Sa bawat tahanan may mga hindi pagkakaintindihan. Pero hindi kami dumating sa puntong magkakahiwa-hiwalay. Sarah is merely shrugging off the rumor. She said what is important is that she and her family know the truth.

Despite intrigues pitting her against Angeline Quinto, Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo said she is genuinely happy to see the "Star Power" champion's star rising.

In an interview with Push.com.ph during her band rehearsal with Concert King Martin Nievera last July 6, Geronimo reiterated that she doesn’t consider Angeline Quinto as a threat.

“Hindi ko kino-consider si Angeline na threat kasi hindi magandang mindset 'yon eh. 'Yong maging neurotic ka? Hindi magandang ugali 'yon e,” she said.

Geronimo also addressed the rumor saying she went to the United States and studied voice and dancing lessons just to have an edge over Quinto.

“Alam niyo, hindi na natin maaalis sa society na pinagko-compare ang bawat isa maging sa trabaho man o sa kahit anong aspeto. Diyos lang ang hindi tayo pinagko-compare dahil ginawa Niyang unique ang bawat isa sa atin. Ako naman, I’ve always tried to improve my craft,” she said.

Geronimo added she is completely happy for Quinto because she has gone through the same experience when she was just starting out.

“Basta I am so happy sa nararating ni Angeline ngayon. Siyempre naintindihan ko ‘yan kasi pinagdaanan ko ‘yan eh. Pinagdaanan namin pareho ‘yan. Masayang-masaya ako na 'yong mga kasabayan ko [sa pagkanta] unti-unti kaming nakakaakyat [at nakikilala sa industriyang ginagalawan namin],” she said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo revealed that she is now ready to go back to work again after her vacation in the States.

“I feel refreshed and well-rested din. Hahaha! Kahit papaano nandoon din 'yong peace,” she said.

“Na-experience ko 'yong peace doon. Very happy ako kasi nagkaroon kami ng bonding ni Mommy at ng mga relatives namin na nagpatuloy sa amin sa bahay nila doon. Siyempre kapag nagkaroon ka ng konting pahinga, mas inspired ka na magtrabaho ulit,” she added.

Sarah Geronimo misses working with John Lloyd Cruz

Sarah Geronimo has made a stand on persistent reports that she is transferring to another TV network once her contract ends with ABS-CBN: she is not moving!

Sarah let out a scream as ABS-CBN's TV Patrol posed the question to her at rehearsals for her "What Love is" concert tour with Martin Nievera in New Manila.

"Please Lord, no! Ayoko! Masarap ang pakiramdam kung gusto ka sa Kapamilya Network, pero kung ayaw na nila, malulungkot ako...pero ako, ayokong umalis."

Sarah is managed by Vic del Rosario of Viva Entertainment, which also manages other stars now under the wings of GMA-7 and TV5.

It was previously rumored that del Rosario was moving the "Pop Princess" to TV5.

The singer also lamented the spate of intrigues comparing her with "Star Power" singing champion Angeline Quinto.

Enough, she said.

"Magkaibigan kami ni Angeline, nuon pa when we were schoolmates, nakakahiya sa kanya. Naiintindihan ko naman ang showbiz, yung mga followers na pinag-aaway kami pero sana huwag nang gumamit ng masasakit na salita. Ayaw ni Lord ng ganyan!"

Sarah is celebrating her 23rd birthday on July 2. She said her only wish now is personal growth and maturity as a professional artist.

After her break-up with Rayver Cruz, matters of the heart is the least of her priority.

"Ang focus ko sa Diyos and family ko. Yung love, darating din yan at the right time! Happy naman ako ngayon!"

One project she's really head over heels excited with is her planned third movie with John Lloyd Cruz.

"Yes, I've missed him. He's special to me as he is to a lot of people, magaling na aktor at mabuting kaibigan."

The movie's working title is "It Takes a Man and a Woman."

Sarah Geronimo back from US, gears up for concert

Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo is now back in the country after going on leave for almost a month to take advanced dance and singing lessons in Los Angeles.

"Kagagaling ko lang po sa States. It's good to be back," Geronimo said during the rehearsal for her upcoming concert dubbed "What Love Is" with Martin Nievera.

Geronimo said it was a nice feeling to learn more things about her craft.

"Refreshing siyempre po. Ito ang matagal ko ng gustong gawin para ma-improve ang craft ko. Gusto kong mag-voice lessons at mag-dance lessons doon. Finally naayos ang schedule. I feel fulfilled," she said.

The Pop Star Princess said she was inspired by the dance group G-Force.

"Kasi ang galing na nila pero nagta-take pa din sila ng dance classes sa L.A. at sa New York," Geronimo said.

The actress-singer said she took the classes to give her fans a really great performance.

"Well obviously, talagang gusto ko na laging mabigyan ng magandang performance ang mga audience. Gusto kong mag-improve," she said.

When asked what kind of dance she learned in the US, Geronimo replied: "Confidential na lang."

In the interview, Nievera praised Geronimo for making an effort to improve her craft.

"Siyempre that's a lesson sa lahat ng mga bagong singers at mga singers na akala nila magaling na sila, sikat na sila. If Sarah Geronimo can go to school and improve her craft, that says a lot for the industry. I think we should all be proud of her and at the same time we should follow in her footsteps. Hindi naman sa kailangan ikaw ay pumunta sa Amerika. Kailangan lang ay i-improve at i-hone ang craft mo," he said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo addressed the issue that she went abroad to do a project with Charice and David Foster.

"Wala naman po. Walang ano [man]. Nabalitaan ko na may statement nga. Natuwa naman ako pero bahala na si Lord kung ano ang will niya," she said.

In a previous interivew, Foster said it would be nice if Charice and Geronimo would do a project together.

Geronimo said that because of her busy schedule in the US, she never had the chance to see Charice.

On Friday (July 8), Geronimo and Martin will be performing at Central Philippine University in Iloilo and at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on July 15.

Report has it that Geronimo, who will be turning 23 on July 25, will be doing a movie again with actor John Lloyd Cruz.

"I heard nga po. Nalaman ko sa ibang tao pero wala pang confirmation from Boss Vic and Star Cinema. Siyempre masaya tayo kung ano ang ikakasaya ng mga tao," Geronimo said.

Star Power grand winner Angeline Quinto has belied reports which say she's just using Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo to boost her popularity.

In an interview on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" on Sunday, Quinto stressed that she will never use anyone to get her dreams.

"Hala, hindi naman ako sikat, hindi pa. Hindi ko naman po ginagamit si Sarah. Siyempre ginagawa ko naman ang lahat ng magagawa ko para makilala ng tao," Quinto said.

"Hindi po talaga totoo 'yan at saka hindi naman ako nanggagamit ng kahit sino," she added.

Quinto even shared said that she and Geronimo go along very well.

Sarah Geronimo admitted she is taking glutathione orally to achieve a pinky-white complexion.

"Opo naman, nagte-take din ako ng capsules," Geronimo said.

Geronimo made the statement in response to people's questions on why she is getting fairer.

Report has it that Star Cinema won't give her projects like her much-anticipated reunion movie with Gerald Anderson.

"Bakit? Hindi ko po alam. Hindi ko po alam," Geronimo said.

It an official statement, Star Cinema stressed that the film outfit has nothing against the singer.

"The issue pitting Star Cinema against Sarah Geronimo is not true. A new movie project for her this year is in development already and another one set for 2012," the company said.

Sarah Geronimo to collaborate with Charice Pempengco

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo is set to do a collaboration with international singing sensation Charice.

During a photo shoot for her Belo Essentials endorsement project, Geronimo told abs-cbnNEWS.com that she is set to do a single with Charice.

"Nasa planning stage pa lang siya and I'm hoping na matuloy kasi international pop sensation si Charice," Geronimo said.

She met Charice when she hosted ABS-CBN's defunct talent show "Little Big Star" in 2005.

The Pop Princess said it's an honor for her to work again with the "world's most talented girl."

"It would be an honor to do a collaboration with her. Parang single yung gagawin, dito gagawin sa Pilipinas pero kung saan ire-release yan po ang inaayos. Depende sa both side kung saan mag-agree," Geronimo added.

In "Little Big Star," Charice did not win and placed only third. She lost to singer-actor Sam Concepcion.
