Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis tarps pulled out

The Metro Manila Development Authority on Monday ordered the tarpaulins of actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis pulled out for lack of permit, violating the National Building Code and for being offensive.

A MMDA press statement said the tarpaulins on Boni-EDSA showed the 2 actresses both clad in bras.

It said MMDA will tear down similar illegal billboards on EDSA-Trinoma and EDSA-Pasay.

Curtis, however, denied that she has such a billboard along Boni-Edsa.

“Hello I don't think I have any billboards along Boni-Edsa to begin with. Most specially in a bra :) I think @MMDA may be wrong :p” she tweeted.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos earlier asked advertisers to take down sexy billboards of the Philippine Volcanoes, the country's rugby team, along EDSA.

The billboards feature members of the team showing off their bodies as they posed in their underwear.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino earlier filed 8 cases against 3 billboard operators illegally maintaining billboards in Quezon City for violations of the National Building Code and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and for lack of the necessary permits.

The billboards, located along E. de los Santos Avenue, Bonifacio Avenue and Immaculate Conception (Cubao), were erected without any building permit and encroached on setback requirements prescribed in the Building Code. All eight billboards had received notices of rolldown/ removal and confiscation of the illegal advertising tarpaulins from the Local Building Official of Quezon City.

A total of 18 cases have been filed against illegal billboard operators, the first batch of 10 billboards having been filed in Makati City by the MMDA Chairman last June.

Korina faces intrigues about her marriage

Broadcast journalist and “TV Patrol” anchor Korina Sanchez has laughed off rumors that she and her equally famous husband, Transportation and Communications Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, are now living separately.

Sanchez reiterated that they are still together and are very much in love with each other.

“Mahihirapan sila kaming paghiwalayin. Alam mo ang sabi niya sa akin noong isang araw, ‘Honey ang malas mo.’ ‘Bakit?” sabi ko. ‘I will never leave you.’ Sabi niya sa akin ganoon. ‘You’re stuck with me,’” Sanchez told “The Buzz.” “Sabi niya minsan, ‘Ang malas ko talaga.’ Sabi ko, ‘Bakit?’ ‘Malas, sobra kitang mahal.’”

The broadcast journalist said this is not the first time that they have been rumored to have ended their marriage. She pointed out that there seems to be a campaign meant to break them.

“Sabi ko nga Diyos ko talagang mga chismosang intrigerong ito. Sabi kong ganyan ‘yong hindi kami nakikita hiwalay na kami. ‘Yong nakita kami, nagpapanggap lang kami. Sabi ko ibang klase ito. Hindi na tsismis ito, kampanya na ito ng paninira,” she said.

There are speculations that Sanchez has been neglecting her husband due to her busy schedule, but the “TV Patrol” anchor denied it. “Hoy, ang gwapo ni Mar ngayon, care of (pointing to herself)... nagyo-yoga kami pareho... we talk about a lot of things together.”

As to the issue that there is a third party, Sanchez said they are not making a big deal out of it.

“Natatawa pa nga ako kay Mar. ‘Hoy, pinag-uusapan dito na hiwalay na tayo. Umuwi ka na galing New York. Akala ata nila hiwalay na talaga tayo’…. ‘My third party daw.’ Sabi niya, ‘Talaga, sino ‘yong lalaki?’ (Laughs) ‘Anong ako, ikaw ‘yong nachi-chismis na may babae,’” she said.

She added that the “names that have come up are really ridiculous.”

She also said that Roxas has never given her any reason to be jealous of anybody.

Meanwhile, Sanchez said they are already planning to have a baby. “Pinag-usapan na namin ng seryoso na simulan na ang proseso ng paghahanda. I’m taking care of my body, I’ve been talking to my OB-gynecologist again.”

Sanchez admitted that she is excited but she doesn’t want to have high hopes. “I’m sure mahihirapan na ako but I believe that God believes in me. I’ve been such a good girl, I’m sure yan ang kanyang regalo sa lahat ng sakripisyo sa buhay ko na bibigyan niya ako ng isang anak.”

She said she will always be honored to be Roxas’ wife and that she will love him forever.

Sarah Geronimo says her parents are still together

Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo has denied reports that her parents, Delfin and Divine, have separated.

In a taped interview with “The Buzz”, Sarah said her parents have misunderstandings sometimes but it does not mean that they have parted ways.

“Hindi tayo perpektong pamilya. Sa bawat tahanan may mga hindi pagkakaintindihan. Pero hindi kami dumating sa puntong magkakahiwa-hiwalay. Sa awa ng Diyos, at napakalaki ng pasasalamat ko sa Diyos na hindi kami dumarating sa puntong ‘yon. At God forbid naman, huwag naman, huwag naman po,” the young singer said.

The Pop Star Princess addressed the intrigue after she returned to the country from Los Angeles, California where she had a voice and dance lessons.

Rumor has it that although Delfin and Divine are living under the same roof, they are not on good terms and that they have separated.

Sarah is merely shrugging off the rumor. She said what is important is that she and her family know the truth.

More than a week after her mom, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, confirmed the news that she is pregnant, actress Andi Eigenmann came out in public for the first time to attend a celebrity gathering, showing off her baby bump.

Actress Kim Chiu landed on the top trending local topics of the microblogging site Twitter on Friday after ABS-CBN's talk show "Kris TV" hosted by Kris Aquino featured her dream house for the first time.

Filipinos could not help but express their admiration for Chiu's biggest investment as an actress.

"Kim Chiu is just 21 years old to achieve a big dream house. That's because all of her hardwork and determination. So inspiring! Love her," user @REHJJJ tweeted.

"Watched #kristv awhile ago. Saw Kim Chiu's house. Love her house! x," netizen Jessica de la Paz said.

Chiu's multi-million peso house is situated in an upscale subdivision in Quezon City.

According to Chiu, she spotted her 600-square-meter property in November 2009. They started building it in 2010.

On April 6, 2011, Chiu moved with her family into her 3-storey dream house, which is painted in white and beige.

The hashtag #Kim Chiu made it to the 8th spot on Twitter's list of top trending topics for the Philippines on Friday afternoon next to Pinoy brand #Penshoppe.

Despite intrigues pitting her against Angeline Quinto, Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo said she is genuinely happy to see the "Star Power" champion's star rising.

In an interview with Push.com.ph during her band rehearsal with Concert King Martin Nievera last July 6, Geronimo reiterated that she doesn’t consider Angeline Quinto as a threat.

“Hindi ko kino-consider si Angeline na threat kasi hindi magandang mindset 'yon eh. 'Yong maging neurotic ka? Hindi magandang ugali 'yon e,” she said.

Geronimo also addressed the rumor saying she went to the United States and studied voice and dancing lessons just to have an edge over Quinto.

“Alam niyo, hindi na natin maaalis sa society na pinagko-compare ang bawat isa maging sa trabaho man o sa kahit anong aspeto. Diyos lang ang hindi tayo pinagko-compare dahil ginawa Niyang unique ang bawat isa sa atin. Ako naman, I’ve always tried to improve my craft,” she said.

Geronimo added she is completely happy for Quinto because she has gone through the same experience when she was just starting out.

“Basta I am so happy sa nararating ni Angeline ngayon. Siyempre naintindihan ko ‘yan kasi pinagdaanan ko ‘yan eh. Pinagdaanan namin pareho ‘yan. Masayang-masaya ako na 'yong mga kasabayan ko [sa pagkanta] unti-unti kaming nakakaakyat [at nakikilala sa industriyang ginagalawan namin],” she said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo revealed that she is now ready to go back to work again after her vacation in the States.

“I feel refreshed and well-rested din. Hahaha! Kahit papaano nandoon din 'yong peace,” she said.

“Na-experience ko 'yong peace doon. Very happy ako kasi nagkaroon kami ng bonding ni Mommy at ng mga relatives namin na nagpatuloy sa amin sa bahay nila doon. Siyempre kapag nagkaroon ka ng konting pahinga, mas inspired ka na magtrabaho ulit,” she added.

Sarah Geronimo has made a stand on persistent reports that she is transferring to another TV network once her contract ends with ABS-CBN: she is not moving!

Sarah let out a scream as ABS-CBN's TV Patrol posed the question to her at rehearsals for her "What Love is" concert tour with Martin Nievera in New Manila.

"Please Lord, no! Ayoko! Masarap ang pakiramdam kung gusto ka sa Kapamilya Network, pero kung ayaw na nila, malulungkot ako...pero ako, ayokong umalis."

Sarah is managed by Vic del Rosario of Viva Entertainment, which also manages other stars now under the wings of GMA-7 and TV5.

It was previously rumored that del Rosario was moving the "Pop Princess" to TV5.

The singer also lamented the spate of intrigues comparing her with "Star Power" singing champion Angeline Quinto.

Enough, she said.

"Magkaibigan kami ni Angeline, nuon pa when we were schoolmates, nakakahiya sa kanya. Naiintindihan ko naman ang showbiz, yung mga followers na pinag-aaway kami pero sana huwag nang gumamit ng masasakit na salita. Ayaw ni Lord ng ganyan!"

Sarah is celebrating her 23rd birthday on July 2. She said her only wish now is personal growth and maturity as a professional artist.

After her break-up with Rayver Cruz, matters of the heart is the least of her priority.

"Ang focus ko sa Diyos and family ko. Yung love, darating din yan at the right time! Happy naman ako ngayon!"

One project she's really head over heels excited with is her planned third movie with John Lloyd Cruz.

Sarah Geronimo back from US, gears up for concert

Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo is now back in the country after going on leave for almost a month to take advanced dance and singing lessons in Los Angeles.

"Kagagaling ko lang po sa States. It's good to be back," Geronimo said during the rehearsal for her upcoming concert dubbed "What Love Is" with Martin Nievera.

Geronimo said it was a nice feeling to learn more things about her craft.

"Refreshing siyempre po. Ito ang matagal ko ng gustong gawin para ma-improve ang craft ko. Gusto kong mag-voice lessons at mag-dance lessons doon. Finally naayos ang schedule. I feel fulfilled," she said.

The Pop Star Princess said she was inspired by the dance group G-Force.

"Kasi ang galing na nila pero nagta-take pa din sila ng dance classes sa L.A. at sa New York," Geronimo said.

The actress-singer said she took the classes to give her fans a really great performance.

"Well obviously, talagang gusto ko na laging mabigyan ng magandang performance ang mga audience. Gusto kong mag-improve," she said.

When asked what kind of dance she learned in the US, Geronimo replied: "Confidential na lang."

In the interview, Nievera praised Geronimo for making an effort to improve her craft.

"Siyempre that's a lesson sa lahat ng mga bagong singers at mga singers na akala nila magaling na sila, sikat na sila. If Sarah Geronimo can go to school and improve her craft, that says a lot for the industry. I think we should all be proud of her and at the same time we should follow in her footsteps. Hindi naman sa kailangan ikaw ay pumunta sa Amerika. Kailangan lang ay i-improve at i-hone ang craft mo," he said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo addressed the issue that she went abroad to do a project with Charice and David Foster.

"Wala naman po. Walang ano [man]. Nabalitaan ko na may statement nga. Natuwa naman ako pero bahala na si Lord kung ano ang will niya," she said.

In a previous interivew, Foster said it would be nice if Charice and Geronimo would do a project together.

Geronimo said that because of her busy schedule in the US, she never had the chance to see Charice.

On Friday (July 8), Geronimo and Martin will be performing at Central Philippine University in Iloilo and at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on July 15.

Report has it that Geronimo, who will be turning 23 on July 25, will be doing a movie again with actor John Lloyd Cruz.

"I heard nga po. Nalaman ko sa ibang tao pero wala pang confirmation from Boss Vic and Star Cinema. Siyempre masaya tayo kung ano ang ikakasaya ng mga tao," Geronimo said.

Sabi naman ni Monching, "Kasi ang ano namin, pag after maka-graduate siya, kung ano yung gusto niyang gawin, okay lang sa amin, basta mag-e-enjoy siya, ganun."

At ngayong nasa showbiz na si Janine, hindi siyempre mawawala ang words of wisdom from her loving and proud parents.

Sabi ni Monching, "Advise ko lang na, you know, mag-enjoy siya and to be professional. Yung oras importante, di ba? Maging mabait sa mga kasama niya."

Ayon naman kay Lotlot, "I know she's going to do very well. Well, I told her that she has to learn to fight her battles, maraming mang-iintriga, maraming pupula sa kanya."

Eugene Domingo on Andi Eigenmann's pregnancy: 'A baby is always a blessing'

Naniniwala si Eugene Domingo na isang blessing para kay Andi Eigenmann ang sanggol na nasa sinapupunan niya ngayon.

Nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na makausap ang award-winning actress sa presscon ng Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank nitong Biyernes, July 1, sa Katre restaurant sa Scout Lazcano St, Quezon City.

Ani Eugene, "Ang panghihinayangan lang natin, ginu-groom siya to become an actress, a leading lady, a star pero mauudlot. Mauudlot lang naman.

"A baby is always a blessing.

"She's already 21. Hindi naman siya pababayaan ni Ms. Jaclyn Jose at ng kanyang pamilya.

"Magaling siyang artista. Break lang iyan, kapag balik niyan mas magaling pa iyan."

Nagkasama si Eugene at si Andi sa pelikulang Mamarazzi na pinalabas noong nakaraang taon.

TRUTH HURTS. Sa mainit-init pa rin na issue tungkol sa "Sky Flakes and catfood" remarks ng indie filmmaker na si Rafael "Rafa" Santos, nagbigay rin ng pahayag ang dating theater actress na si Eugene Domingo kaugnay ng pinag-uusapang isyu na ito.

Aniya, "So, nung una nakakatawa, pagkatapos nakakalungkot. Tapos nakakainis, because there's some truth on what he said. And truth always hurts, hindi ba?"

Dagdag pa ni Uge, "Napanaood ko siya kasi kumalat naman sa Facebook at saka sa Twitter itong napakainit na issue tungkol sa statement o pa-interview ni Rafa Santos.

"Hindi ko siya masyadong kilala at hindi ko pa siya nakakatrabaho, pero kitang-kita ko na ninenerbiyos siya.

"So, para hindi mahalatang ninenerbiyos siya, siguro nagpatawa na lang siya, hindi ba? Nagdyo-joke siya, e.

"Nung una, natatawa ako. Natatawa pa talaga ako, e.

"Tapos parang in the long run, alam mo 'yon, nalungkot talaga ako."

Galing sa teatro si Uge kung kaya't dama niya ang lungkot sa naging statement ni Rafa.

"Dahil ako po ay nanggaling sa teatro, hindi ko makakalimutan kung ano pinagdaanan ko.

"Lahat ng mga maliliit na roles na may maliit na bayad, di ba?

"Pero ang isang artista na devoted at binibigay ang lahat ng kanyang talino at skills, dahil tinanggap niya ang proyekto at naniniwala siya sa vision ng direktor, kapag tinanggap niya ang isang trabaho, definitely hindi siya nagbibiro," saad niya.

Handa bang tumanggap ng project si Uge na gustung-gusto niya kahit Sky Flakes lang ang ipakain sa kanya?

"Siguro ngayon nakita ko ang itsura ni Rafa Santos, mas handa akong tanggapin ang project na siya ang leading man ko do'n.

"Para ma-try niya paano maging artista, di ba? Lalo na pagkasama ako!" pagbibiro niya.

Payag kaya siyang magpadirek kay Rafa?

"Why not? Kung maganda talaga 'yong project at saka ilang truck ng Sky Flakes ba ang ibibigay mo sa 'kin?

Sky Flakes, kunin niyo akong endorser. Panay ang Sky Flakes ko, ha!" aniya pa.

SECOND CHANCE. Napag-alaman ni Uge na nagbigay na raw ng apology letter ang direktor ukol sa kanyang statement na umani ng batikos sa local theater community.

"Kakalabas lang ng letter of apology niya addressed to the theater actors already, sa theater community.

"Nung una sa Cinemalaya lang, kasi siguro dahil marami ang nagre-request na i-pull out ang kanyang entry, di ba?"

Si Rafa ang direktor ng short film na Samarito.

"Ngayon umaga, mainit-init pa, nabasa ko 'yong kanyang letter of apology.

"And alam mo naman, maraming characteristics ang mga theater actors collaborative, very generous, at mapagpatawad ang mga theater actors.

"So, lahat naman nagkakamali, lahat naman ay dapat mabigyan ng second chances.

"Who knows, baka sa pagkakataong 'to, maaga pa naman, maipakita niya kung gaano talaga siya kagaling bilang direktor."

Mensahe pa niya kay Rafa, "Ngayon, naiisip ko lang, e, kaya mo pa lang magsalita nang maayos, e, bakit kumatfood ka pa at saka Sky Flakes? Bakit ka pa do'n?"

At saka niya sinundan ng malakas na tawa.

UGE'S MOVIES. Si Eugene ang bida sa Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank, na film debut ng direktor na si Marlon Rivera.

"Dito, aabangan nila kung ako ay lulusong sa septic tank kunsaan matatandaan n'yo na nahulog ako at naaksidente ako.

"Napaka-interesting na pelikula na ito lalo na sa ngayon, nauuso ang paggawa ng independent films.

"Makikita nila kung paano nagtatrabaho ang isang artista sa isang dream project. In other words, ito ay isang 'film-within-a-film.'

"Kumanta rin ako dito, sa palagay ko, dito na ako madi-discover bilang isang singer," biro pa niya.

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank ay kalahok sa 2011 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, at mapapanood sa Cultural Center of the Philippines and selected cinemas at Greenbelt 3 mula July 15 to 24.

Bukod dito, may dalawang pelikula si Eugene sa 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Ito ay ang My HouseHusband, na pagbibidahan ng mag-asawang Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo, at ang "Lunod" episode sa Shake, Rattle and Roll 13 na ididirehe ni Chris Martinez (Here Comes The Bride, Temptation Island).

Claudine Barreto celebrates birthday month in GMA-7’s Spooky Nights

Weekend TV viewers will see a different Claudine Barreto beginning July 2 in GMA-7’s Spooky Nights Presents: Nuno sa Feng Shui.

In celebration of her birthday month, the Kapuso actress stars in the horror-comedy series as Mila, a woman cursed by a “nuno" since childhood. She may have a beautiful face but her hips and legs are just unusually and distractingly huge.

Mila lives a pretty plain life – she works in a store, takes care of her bedridden father and believes she will be an old maid. Thus, she often daydreams and fascinates herself with Chinese astrology and charms.

Mila’s life only becomes really colorful when she meets Stephen Lee (TJ Trinidad), the only son of her Chinese employers. While Mila tries her best to attract Stephen, the latter does not even notice her or her clumsiness due to her enormous lower body.

One night, Mila gives food to an old beggar and shares with him her sentiments about her life and her disfigured body. The man then presents to her a magical charm bracelet with a love potion that she has to rub three times against Stephen’s right hand to make him fall for her.

After many funny and desperate attempts, Mila succeeds in using the charm bracelet and Stephen gets smitten by her. However, this also starts many complications in her life.

Stephen’s superstitious mother, Mrs. Lee (Tiya Pusit), does not approve of Mila, a non-Chinese girl who is their store helper and whose zodiac sign is incompatible with Stephen’s. It is also revealed that the old beggar Mila helped is actually the “nuno" who cursed her!

Is the “nuno" really helping Mila with her love problem? Or is he only scheming to take more from her? Will love be real love if only an enchanted bracelet made it happen?

Expect more twist and turns in the story as Mila strives to keep Stephen’s love and overcome her curse. Director Uro Q. Dela Cruz and Head Writer Senedy Que collaborate to give new flavor to the fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast, by adding a mix of Filipino folkore and Chinese beliefs.

Completing the cast of Spooky Nights Presents: Nuno sa Feng Shui are: Marco Alcaraz as Nunok, the “nuno" who cursed Mila; Daniel Fernando as Aldo, Mila’s heartless and bedridden father; and Munting Heredera child star Mona Louise Rey as the young Mila.

Spooky Nights Presents: Nuno sa Feng Shui begins this Saturday (July 2) after Carlo J. Caparas’ Andres de Saya on GMA-7.
