After a six-month break from show business, controversial actress Gretchen Barretto is now ready for another soap opera under ABS-CBN.
Barretto on Monday renewed her exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. She signed the contract with the network’s big bosses Cory Vidanes and Linggit Tan.
The actress said she could not contain her excitement over her new television project under the Kapamilya station.
“After half a year, andito na ako ulit. Gretchen’s back! Excited ako. After ‘Magkaribal’, mayroon ho kaming ihahandog muli sa inyo na isang napakagandang teleserye. Excited na excited ako today,” she said.
Meantime, Barretto revealed the preparations she has done for this project.
“Six months kaming nag-prepare for this teleserye. Six months akong nag-iipon ng damit para sa teleseryeng ito. I’ve been exercising and magwo-worskhop kami this week. So tuloy-tuloy na po ang trabaho, halos araw-araw before kami mag-tape,” she said.
The teleserye (name withheld) cast includes sultry actress Angelica Panganiban, “The Buzz” host-actress KC Concepcion, model-actor Zanjoe Marudo, singer-actor Sam Milby and “MYX” VJ-actor Luis Manzano.
Barretto also revealed that the TV series, inspired by her hit soap opera, “Magkaribal”, talks about living under the pressures of high society.
When asked if she feels threatened with “Magkaribal”'s success, Barretto said: “Well, extra-challenging, yes. I can say nakaka-pressure but at the same time, like I said, I am inspired to be a better actor, a more intense actor.”
“I’m really ready. I’m really hungry to work and really hungry to give my best to the audience. I know that they’re also very excited to see the three together –KC, Angelica and me,” she added.
