After her so-called breakup with actor and long-time on-screen partner Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu said she learned how to love herself more.
In an interview with Boy Abunda on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" on Sunday, the Drama Princess said she is thankful to have gone through such an experience.
"I learned to love myself more. I learned how to be strong. So thankful ako na naramdaman ko 'yun," Chiu said.
Kimsaid she and Gerald are now "better friends" after the so-called breakup. "Kami ni Gerald, sobrang okay namin. Hanggang ngayon, andiyan siya 'pag may problema. 'Pag hindi ko na kaya, kinakausap ko siya, nakikinig siya," she said.
Asked how she handled the pain, she said, "Umiyak ka lang.
Last year, Chiu denied rumors that she tried to commit suicide after her so-called breakup with Anderson. Both have repeatedly said that they never became a couple, with Anderson saying that what they had was a "special relationship."
Chiu is set to return to primetime television on August 22 with her upcoming series, "My Binondo Girl."
