Kim Chiu opens up on 'breakup' with Gerald Anderson

After her so-called breakup with actor and long-time on-screen partner Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu said she learned how to love herself more.

In an interview with Boy Abunda on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" on Sunday, the Drama Princess said she is thankful to have gone through such an experience.

"I learned to love myself more. I learned how to be strong. And kung hindi ka naman nagmahal, hindi ka naman masasaktan eh. So thankful ako na naramdaman ko 'yun," Chiu said.

"Wala akong sama ng loob o galit sa kahit na sino. Masaya ako na naramdaman ko 'yun."

Kimsaid she and Gerald are now "better friends" after the so-called breakup. "Kami ni Gerald, sobrang okay namin. Hanggang ngayon, andiyan siya 'pag may problema. 'Pag hindi ko na kaya, kinakausap ko siya, nakikinig siya," she said.

Asked how she handled the pain, she said, "Umiyak ka lang. Pagkatapos nun masaya ka na ulit, kasama mo friends mo, mga taong nagmamahal sa'yo."

"Hindi naman masamang magmahal. Hindi. Tao ka rin naman so marami ka talagang mararamdaman sa ngalan ng pag-ibig," she added.

Last year, Chiu denied rumors that she tried to commit suicide after her so-called breakup with Anderson. Both have repeatedly said that they never became a couple, with Anderson saying that what they had was a "special relationship."

John Lloyd Cruz asks fans to support movie with Angel Locsin

John Lloyd Cruz recently confirmed that he will be doing a movie with Angel Locsin, but rumors say that some of his supporters want him to be paired with his other former leading ladies instead.

Cruz reacted to the rumors, saying that he does not have the final say when it comes to his co-stars.

"Gusto ko lang ipaalala na hindi ko po call' yon kasi baka sa akin ang maging balik nito. Ako po ay empleyado lang dito, kung ano po ang ipinapagawa, 'yon po ang ginagawa ko," he said in an interview with Push.com.ph during the story conference for his upcoming film with Locsin.

"Well, I guess on behalf of Star Cinema, we apologize sa mga na-disappoint na fans. We just want you to know na sobrang importante kayo sa amin, 'yung sinasabi niyo, suggestions niyo. We value that, kaya lang kung pwede lang sabay-sabay gawin [gagawin ko]."

The actor then asked his supporters to give his tandem with Locsin a chance since they already gained a following after their successful television series, "Imortal."

"I'm sure marami diyan na kayang gawin ang hindi ko magagawa o hindi ko maibigay. Ang gusto ko lang sa sarili ko I'm still willing and very much eager to learn kung ano pa 'yung maio-offer ko in the future and [through] this project sana I'm hoping na makapagbigay pa ako," he said.

Asked to describe Locsin, Cruz said, "Si Angel, wala namang 'yang sasabihing hindi maganda sa kahit na sino. Talagang napakabait niyang magbitiw ng salita."

Kean Cipriano admits admiration for Sarah Geronimo

Callalilly lead vocalist Kean Cipriano revealed his admiration for Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo after they got to collaborate in the latter’s album.

During the press conference of “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” last August 2, Cipriano told Push.com.ph: “Sarah is Sarah whatever happens. I like her on and off stage. I admire her, the way she projects herself. She's a good singer, a very good performer.”

Cipriano also did not deny the fact that he is open to the possibility that he would fall for Geronimo.

“Why not? Walang magiging problema dun. Kung okay naman. Ako naman nirerespeto ko lahat ng mga taong nakakasama ko or mga babaeng nakakatrabaho ko. Kung may mabuong maganda, why not,” he explained.

Cipriano, however, clarified he has no plans of meeting Sarah's parents just yet. He said he just wants to take take things slow and not rush things.

“Wala pa naman tayo diyan. I can never tell sa ngayon. Ang importante we get along sa pag-perform siguro. Hindi ko pa naman sobrang close si Sarah. So wala ako sa posisyon para magsalita. But I am happy that we are doing something together. Everything will follow through,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cipriano said he is hoping that he will also get to work with Geronimo in an acting project.

“Siyempre isa si Sarah sa mga dream leading ladies ko. Kasi we have a collaboration sa isang kanta sa album niya. Nag-perform kami last time sa album tour niya. Iba pala kapag katabi mo si Sarah na kumakanta sa stage. Iba yung feeling,” he said.

Candy Pangilinan: I didn't do enough to protect my son

Comedienne Candy Pangilinan turned emotional on Sunday as she explained her side on the verbal bashing incident involving her and talk show host IC Mendoza.

Pangilinan lamented that she did not do enough to protect her son, a special child, who was included in some media attacks against her.

This weakness, she said, led her to hurt another son and mother in Mendoza and entertainment writer Dolly Anne Carvajal, respectively.

"Ang ironic na nag-react ako dahil nasaktan ako at nasaktan ang anak ko pero nakasakit naman ako ng panibagong bata at nanay ulit. Diba umiikot? Dapat hindi," she said in an interview with Boy Abunda on "The Buzz."

"Nagpapasalamat ako at hindi niya (her son) naiintindihan ang nangyayari. Hindi niya naiintindihan na nahihirapan si Mommy. Hindi niya naiintindihan na namomroblema ako na minsan pag nakikita niya na umiiyak ako sasabihin niya, 'Is that work? Why are you crying, Mom?' Sasabihin ko 'That's work.'

"Feeling ko kulang pa 'yung pagprotektang ginagawa ko para sa kanya. Kaya minsan lalo kong nasisisi 'yung sarili ko na hindi pa ako ganun kagaling na ina, na hindi ako ganun kagaling na tao para maprotektahan ko pa lalo ang anak ko.

Pangilinan also lashed out at some entertainment reporters who keep focusing on the weaknesses of others.

"Siguro ang galit ko doon sa sistema na kailangan in this industry ilabas mo 'yung flaws ng tao. We're all imperfect. Wala namang perfect sa'tin dito. So why can't we understand na lahat tayo, artists, writers, journalists, all of us are not perfect?" she said.

"Let's not focus on the weaknesses and frailties of man. But let's highlight the beauty, 'yung positive. Diba?

"Andun ako kasi hinayaan kong i-highlight nila 'yung masakit, 'yung weakness ko, 'yung frailties ko. Akala ko kaya ko. Pero nung tinira ang anak ko, naawa ako so umikot eh. Tama na. Kasi hindi lang naman siguro ako, Tito Boy, ang tumahimik, diba? Tama na."

Asked to give a message to her son, Pangilinan cried again and said, "You have to be well, you have to function well. You have to life your life. You have to be independent. Mom will try to live long for you. But if I don't live long, you have to live well."

Apology

Pangilinan already apologized to Mendoza through a statement which was aired on ABS-CBN's "Showbiz News Ngayon" last week.

"I am deeply grieved and offer my sincere apology to IC Mendoza and his mother Dolly Anne Carvajal. Admittedly, I had gone beyond my normal limits in drinking and am so sorry for all the pain I've caused," the statement read.

On "The Buzz," Pangilinan said she apologized because "I don't want to hurt anyone."

"Kaya ako nag-snap because I was hurt. Galing ako dun eh. Ayokong makasakit. I think hurting is unacceptable," she said.

"Yes, nasaktan ko siya (Mendoza) kaya ako nag-sorry. And I want to stop that cycle [0of hurting others]."

Meanwhile, Pangilinan hopes that Mendoza and Carvajal will accept her apology.

"After everything, nalabas ko na, yes [I'm okay]. Now it's the guilt I have for IC because I hurt him and now I hope he accepts my apology," she said.

"I hope in the future we'll be able to talk."

Judy Ann Santos got best tips from own mom

Actress Judy Ann Santos said that she owes her motherhood skills mostly to her very own mom.

Santos told “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Friday that she personally took Mommy Carol’s advice on becoming a good mother to her kids, Yohan and Baby Lucio.

“Walang masama [kung] susundin mo mga payo ng magulang mo when it comes to taking care of your children kasi napalaki ka nga nila e. Nakapagpalaki sila ng ilang anak bago ka dumating sa buhay nila e,” she explained.

Santos said she is really pleased with all the new experiences she gets from being a mother.
She said, “Ang dami mo pala masyadong naa-achieve kapag mommy ka pala. Ang dami mong mga bagay na nagagawa na hindi mo maiisip na kaya mo palang gawin.”

Meanwhile, Santos’ long break from the limelight provided more room for her to appreciate her domestic life with husband Ryan Agoncillo.

It seemed that spending more time with her family made her realize how important they are to her.

Santos is set to return to work soon after a long break since her pregnancy with Baby Lucio.
She will host ABS-CBN’s new reality cooking show, “Junior Master Chef.”
